Thank you, DelAnne! It has certainly been memorable. I had a root canal yesterday, and it huuuuurrts! LOL
My mom and older brother stopped over this afternoon so that was sure nice. Tonight I'm going to read and just relax. :)

Thank you, DelAnne! I am currently working on a short contemporary for Paige Tyler's Kindle World. After that I hope to begin a three book series titled The Gryphon Lords. It is a sexy paranormal romance. Over a thousand years ago, magical gryphons were growing in such numbers that there are not enough females for them all to have mates. A bunch of young males are put into stasis in underground lairs, ready to be brought back to life when the population evens out.
However, in 2014 all the young Gryphon males are woken by nuclear blasts which rattle the foundations of the world. (Does that part sound familiar?) A group of Americans are touring ancient sites in Wales in October of 2014, and when they return to the tour bus, they find it rusted, windows broken, tires flat. They walk back to he village and they know something is really weird, because the road is not a road. Trees are growing in it. You guessed it: they jumped in time. Now the villagers aren't friendly, and one of the women on the tour is tethered on a hill as an offering to the "dragon".
Hrodir sees Ashley and knows he can't kill her. He can hear her thoughts, a sure sign that she is his mate. Besides, she's beautiful and he has a burning need to mate her. Ash is scared spitless of course, but when the flying monster picks her up and takes her home, what can she do to stop him?
I'm looking forward to writing it.

I'm really looking forward to Silver Silence by Nalini Singh. I adore her Psy-Changeling series. Also White Hot and Wildfire by Ilona Andrews. I love everything they write. There are others, too, but those three are the first that come to mind.

Maybe not a mystery so much, but what was it like for my grandfather to leave his native Sicily at 17 and come to America? He had no education. Could even read or write. 25 years later he was a modestly successful business owner in Milwaukee WI. My grandmother also immigrated, from Naples. What experiences did they have?

Hello, Jessica! I'm so glad you enjoyed them! At this point I am planning only three books in the Daughters series. However, I think Colby needs to find a mate. A mate with a backbone of steel. And I have a soft spot for Raven, Shadow and Sky's baby brother. So perhaps there will be a Sons of the Wolf Clan series.

Hello, Mia! I started writing Carla and Taye's story and Lisa and Eddie's story as a gift for some co workers. They told me what they wanted, but since they wanted different things (one wanted a western romance, one native American, another werewolves, and more) I had to be very creative to give them all what they wanted. LOL
I agree that Latinas and other women of color aren't as well represented in romance as they should be. One of my heroines, Sherry from Sherry's Wolf, is half black and half Korean. I'm planning a novella for Paige Tyler's Kindle World series Dallas Fire & Rescue. The hero from that is Dustin Wolfe (yes, an ancestral uncle of the Lakota Wolf Clan), and the heroine is Alicia Ybarra. So, another Latina coming up!

I think the best thing you can do is to have a web presence. It doesn't need to be a full fledged website. Blogger and Wordpress host free blogs. That means it doesn't cost anything except your time. And if you're going to be a writer, you really ought to budget some time for social media and blogging. You don't have a to write a blog post every day either. Just post little things from time to time. What are you writing right now? What did you do last weekend? Which authors do you like? What books have you read lately?
Then be sure to make (nice) comments on other people's blogs. Most times when you leave a comment you have the opportunity to add your email addy which is private, and your web addy, which isn't. Sometimes people who like your comment will follow the link to your blog. It's a way to make friends.
If you choose to submit to a publisher or agent, I can just about guarantee they will look to see if you have a web presence.
