Ja'Mia asked Maddy Barone:

What gave you the inspiration to write the After the Crash series? And would you ever consider featuring a black, Asian, or latina woman as a lead because I feel that there's a lacking in diverse characters and I think that you're the perfect author to further that. You are so underrated, but please keep doing what you do.

Maddy Barone Hello, Mia! I started writing Carla and Taye's story and Lisa and Eddie's story as a gift for some co workers. They told me what they wanted, but since they wanted different things (one wanted a western romance, one native American, another werewolves, and more) I had to be very creative to give them all what they wanted. LOL

I agree that Latinas and other women of color aren't as well represented in romance as they should be. One of my heroines, Sherry from Sherry's Wolf, is half black and half Korean. I'm planning a novella for Paige Tyler's Kindle World series Dallas Fire & Rescue. The hero from that is Dustin Wolfe (yes, an ancestral uncle of the Lakota Wolf Clan), and the heroine is Alicia Ybarra. So, another Latina coming up!

Thanks for asking, Mia!
