Awdhesh Singh Dear Puneet,
Religion plays an extremely important role in the modern life. The greatest role of religion is to connect people based on common faith and believes. When millions of people follow a religion, they feel connected to each other. Sometime people, argue that science should replace religion. That is however, never possible. It is because, science tells the fact--the reality as it is. However, religion tells people the ideals--what it should be. Science can tell you your position but can't tell you which way to go. Hence, you can see that all societies where religion is discarded and people have become atheists, are very materialistic since they have started treating human beings like a commodity, which they use and throw. It is religion that makes us believe that we are like God, made in the image of God and hence persuade us to behave like God-justly, honestly, lovingly. Though, there are some instances where religion is misused, but the benefit of religion is far greater than its misuse.

Awdhesh Singh We are all familiar with intelligence which is often measured by IQ Tests. However, we don't know how an IQ Test measures human intelligence. We call a person intelligent who can understand the real life problems and solve it efficiently and effectively. However, unlike the problems of IQ Tests which have standard solutions and we can improve the score with more practice, the real life problems don't have ready-made solutions and there are no re-takes.

Your success in solving real life problems depends on:
• Knowledge of your own Self
• Knowledge of others—your allies and your opponents
• Knowledge of the ground situation
• Knowledge of the various techniques that need to be employed
• Intuition to select the best technique
Though all the above factors are essential for problem solving, only the various techniques can be taught, the rest must be developed from within.
I have thus defined Spiritual Intelligence as: Intuitive knowledge of the Self, others, situations and techniques to achieve the desired objectives of the world.
I have explained the concept of Spiritual Intelligence in my book "Practising Spiritual Intelligence: For Innovation, Leadership and Happiness" in most lucid manner by the help of many stories, jokes and anecdotes, which readers enjoy and love.
Awdhesh Singh My inspiration to write comes from many sources. The most important source is life itself which seems unpredictable and cruel to most of us. People are suffering in their life because they are ignorant of the real world but prefer to belief in the world of their own making. Most people are ignorant of the self and don't know what they want in their life. They have little understanding of others and expect others to behave in a manner which is right according to them but they are unwilling to change themselves for others. Hence, I write to help people discover themselves and know the world better.
The other source of writing is by reading thoughts of great authors. I have found that no thought or ideology can have universal application because all are the creation of human mind. What worked earlier can't work now since everything has changed over time and you are not the same person as the writer or leader. Yet these is something universal in all ideas which can be improvised and used in the present time to solve the real life problem.
It is my attempt to discover new ideas and principles that can be used by us to solve our real life problems and lead a happy and successful life.
Awdhesh Singh My book on Leadership is ready and expected to be released soon by my publisher "Wisdom Tree". This book is not a self-help management book which promises you to make a leader of you by providing some 'quick fix' solutions.
We know that real leaders are not like those described in the management books. Leadership is a game which fetches high rewards and hence the most competitive game of the world. You must know how to play this game. There are no standard rules of this game and your move must be based on the move of your opponents.
We know from our experience that real leaders are a combination of good and evil. While the followers see the good side of the leader, the opponents see the evil side. One who focuses only on good is soon defeated by his rivals who can also use the evil forces. Hence, you must know the evil qualities which you need to acquire to become successful in the game of leadership.

My new book consists of many aspects of leadership which are never discussed publicly but without which no one can become a leader. The book is full of humour and anecdotes of great men. I am confident that readers will love the book and find it useful to develop leadership qualities in them.
Awdhesh Singh Being a writer is easy. Anyone can write what he or she wants. However, to write what is in the mind of others or what people are waiting to listen is never easy. We are self-centered and see the world from our perspective only. Hence, when we write, others don't appreciate us as their world is different than our world.
Writing is an skill which is acquired with time when you keep writing and accept appreciation as well as criticism. You should not be discouraged by criticism and take it in a positive spirit.
Please understand that writing and writer are not two but one. If writing makes a person writer, his writing is an expression of the self. Hence a writer is often exposing his most sacred thoughts and beliefs to unknown people and baring his soul. The result is love and trust of some people and hatred and criticism from others. Hence a famous writer is also criticized most.
Don't aim only for fame but also be ready for hatred, criticism and indifference.
Awdhesh Singh A good writer is one who can understand the mind and emotion of unknown people. We all share our thoughts with people whom we know. Hence, when we speak to a known person or audience, we always speak what they what to listen. Hence most of us have the habit of saying different things before different people. Thus our thoughts are not clear as we there is no consistency on what we say. We can always change our views if we say something that is inappropriate.

A writer however, speaks with (written) words which are read by not only his friends but also his opponents. He does not have the flexibility to change. Hence, being a writer develops clear thinking and develop intuition to understand the mind of the world.
