First of all, I am SO sorry for not answering you sooner! I just now saw this, and I didn't get any notification of it back when you sent it :(
Second of all, I draw a lot of inspiration from Tolkien and Salvatore. I just really enjoy their writing styles, and the way they write their characters. :)

Buttercup and Westley from "The Princess Bride", because theirs was a devoted love in its most purest form that not even death could tear asunder, and that is something that I try to embody within the couples in my own novels. <3

I can honestly say that there was no one inspiration for Dragon Guardian: Fire. As a lover of fantasy, I drew from many sources and made the ideas my own. Certain scenes and characters were inspired by something as simple as a piece of music. However, the story, as well as the world of Primordya, formed entirely around my heroine, Marin Draconya--growing and becoming more complex as she herself grew and became more complex.

Imaginative, dedicated, focused, obsessive, immersive.

It really depends...
Sometimes and idea pops into my head and flows right out through my fingers as they move across the keyboard while I'm already working on a scene. Other times, I have to kick the idea around in my head a little bit and see if it will in fact work with what I'm currently writing. If I find that I really like the idea (whether it's an actual event or simply a line of dialogue), I'll write it down in my notes and save it until I'm able to find a home for it later on down the road.

NEVER give up!
The publishing of 'Dragon Guardian: Fire' was a process that took fourteen years of tweaks, rewrites, and rejections by publishers followed by more tweaking and rewriting until it was finally where I wanted it to be. Because I knew I that I had a good story, I decided to stop being told "no" by publishing houses and publish my novel on my own.
This age of technology and social media is truly the best time for self-published authors. That's not to say that it will be an easy road. Striking out on your own without the resources and connections of a publishing house is HARD work because YOU are the one doing all the footwork and jumping through all the hoops, but it is also very rewarding in the end.

There is no one way for me to get inspired to begin writing because inspiration is literally everywhere. It could be something as simple as song that comes on the radio, or a line of dialogue uttered by a beloved character in either a favored book or movie...or, it could be something that completely sneaks up on you when you're not even actively thinking about anything. Case in point, I happened to be in the shower one night with my mind completely blank when I was suddenly hit (with what felt like the force of a sledgehammer) with the inspiration for a character in 'Dragon Guardian: Water'.
My point is, that inspiration is everywhere around you. You just need to be open to it.

I deal with writer's block in various different ways depending on how bad it is.
Sometimes, all it takes is something as simple as me getting up from my desk and walking into the kitchen to get something to drink to get the wheels turning again.
For the more stubborn blocks, I walk away from my work for a few days (or sometimes, a couple weeks if it's a particularly bad block) and turn to either playing video games or writing fanfiction for various fandoms because it takes me away from the taunting of the incomplete page in front of me while still giving my brain a chance to passively work on breaking through the block.
