(view spoiler)[Is Hobbes from the series "An Inheritance of Magic" named after Thomas Hobbes (1588–1679)? When Stephen responded to Byron’s request about creating a utopia in the first book, it made me wonder..
That aside, how do you usually choose your character names. Are they random, or do you select them for their significance? (hide spoiler)]

Benedict Jacka
They usually have some sort of significance. As for Hobbes, he's named after both the philosopher and the tiger.

I'm a big fan of Wheel of Time, yes!

(view spoiler)[Hi Benedict, I'm in the middle of the Alex Verus series and loving it. This is not so much a question, but i hope it's okay? So in the 6th book of the series Alex learns about a - let's say human trafficking organisation with the name "White Rose". I guess you weren't aware of this, but I thought you might want to know that there was a famous german student resistance group against the Nazis with the same name. :) (hide spoiler)]
Benedict Jacka
Yes, someone told me about it a few years ago. There have been quite a few 'White Roses' over the centuries.

Glad you like them! No plans for Graphic Audio at the moment - I'm quite happy with current audio arrangement and Will Watt's narration.

Too busy writing Inheritance of Magic #3, sorry! I did do a virtual interview on their Urban Fantasy Track though.

I didn't greenlight it; I specifically told him to pronounce it that way! The word is "sigl", not "sigil", and while they look very similar, they actually mean quite different things and have quite different origins. "Sigil" is Latin in origin and refers to a sign or symbol, while "sigl" is an Old English word for a gemstone.

There have been a few scripts shopped around, but from my experience, books only get adapted into TV series once they're famous and successful enough that they don't need a TV series.

Risen, though I also really like Fallen and Forged. I've generally become more pleased with the books the further the series has gone.

(view spoiler)[Might have done. :) I really loved that game. (hide spoiler)]

You're right, Book #12 is the last. Sorry! I always had a very definite story arc in mind for the Alex Verus series, and #12 is the natural point for it to come to an end. I know a lot of people would like to see more books in the series, but I don't want Alex Verus to end up like the Simpsons where it just drags on and on until it's a shambling zombie remnant of its former self. On the plus side, I'll definitely be writing more urban fantasy books - it'll just be something new.

There isn't any reliable way to get them right now, unfortunately. I used to do occasional signings but haven't done any for a while. I'm thinking of opening up mail orders for signed books at some point next year, but I don't know if there'd be enough demand for it (given that I'd have to handle all the distribution myself!)

Should be available from all the usual bookshops! Plus the audiobook will be sold from Audible and similar places.
Benedict Jacka
Yes. (Goodreads claims this answer is too short.)
Benedict Jacka
I could do it, but it's hard to see how I could make it publishable – I'm not sure how many people would be interested enough in those kinds of stories.
Benedict Jacka
Yes, quite soon in fact.
Benedict Jacka
Working on it.
Benedict Jacka
No idea why that would be the case in your area, sorry. Libraries don't generally get in touch with authors about which books to put on their shelves.
