Kevin Robinson is a C6/C7 quadriplegic freelance writer/photographer, and the author of three "Stick Foster" hardback mystery novels, a contemporary novel called The Ghostwalker File, a collection of children's stories, and two self-help books. He is a former Knight-Ridder syndicated columnist for the Detroit Free Press, and his byline has appeared over 100 times in national and regional periodicals. An avid reader, Robinson loves to build furniture, and designed a 28' sailboat that a severely disabled person can sail without assistance. Back in the day, I would rather have died than miss a deadline, so I just treated it like any other job that needed doing...and began writing. Yes, I threw away a lot of drivel, but the physical act of writing always led back to getting the mind and heart reengaged in the process.(less)

The Shadow Runner by K.J. Fieler

I suspect that the only other way to concoct a great adventure novel like The Shadow Runner (about a bright and curious young rich girl swept downward into a Victorian/Steampunk world of thieves and assassins) would be to lock Charles Dickens, Ursula Le Guin, and Elizabeth Moon in a room until they hashed something together upon pain of death.
