FINALLY! New Chapter! Hell & Second Chances & Snakes Through the Black Hole

It’s been a while since my last Hell and Second Chances chapter—longer than I’d planned. Back in June, my dad passed away, and not long after, I found myself needing to write a death scene for the book. Let’s just say motivation to get Chapter 8 done wasn’t exactly on my agenda. Sometimes life throws you into your own horror story, and you’ve got to step back before you can write through it. Now I’m back, and Chapter 8 is here. Be careful not to slip on blood.

This one dives straight into...

Teacup: The Horror That Forgot to be Scary

There’s something almost poetic about pairing my owl-and-squirrel collage with a review of Teacup. The squirrel—wide-eyed, cornered in the tree—should be experiencing pure fight-or-flight mode. The owls are massive, poised, and moments away from pouncing. The tension is right there in the image.

Unfortunately, Teacup never manages to pull that off.

The Long and the Boring

I’ll watch anything with Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter, The Handmaid’s Tale)—she could read a tax form and I’d still ...

Suitable Flesh—Lovecraft Gets a Modern Possession Makeover

If you’re looking for something a little twisted, a little sexy, and a whole lot of morally unhinged, Suitable Flesh delivers. Very loosely based on a story by H.P. Lovecraft—the master of cosmic horror himself—this film pulls in classic body-hopping possession tropes and stirs them up with some truly modern madness.

I went into it not quite sure what to expect, but I genuinely enjoyed the ride. There’s a lot to love here, starting with Heather Graham, who nails her role as a woman caught ...

Hell’s Back & It’s Dropping Weekly

The third book in the Angels Dark & Dumb series, Hell and Second Chances, is about to claw its way into your eyeballs one chapter at a time. And yes—this one is loaded with Minotaurs and black warriors.

Some of you may remember when Call for Obstruction first dropped on Twitter—where it somehow won an award despite featuring exploding organs. Since then, I’ve promised this series would always start online. Accessible. Raw. Free. Like Hell’s worst open mic night.

So starting today, Hell...

Winnie’s Wonders: Medusa, Margery, and Movie Misfires

Yes, I know—it’s well past time for a new blog post, and I’ve got plenty to share. Between creating new art, collaborating on book covers, and suffering through a disappointing horror flick, these wonders are a mix of myth, monsters, and mild movie regret.

1. Medusa and Her Snaky Entourage

First up: a Medusa piece I finished last month. This was such a fun project that really pushed my skills in blending AI elements with Photoshop. I’ve officially given up on Adobe Firefly for horror wo...

Winnie’s Wonders: Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the Style of Patrick Nagel

Time for another Lady of Horror, this time a Patrick Nagel-inspired portrait of Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Drusilla is one of the most iconic characters in Buffy—a gothic, ethereal, and completely unhinged character who remains one of my all time favorite vampires. Introduced in Season 2 as the lover and partner-in-crime of Spike, her tragic backstory makes her one of the most interesting figures in the Buffyverse.

Even better, you gotta love that she was driven to insanity b...

Winnie’s Wonders: Queen of Horror & The Witch of Kings Cross

It’s all about the ladies this time. Notice I didn’t say this week because I’ve kinda given up on posting that frequently.

And speaking of ladies, I completed a new drawing in my Ladies of Horror series in Patrick Nagel style. In case you didn’t recognize her, this is Barbara Steele, an iconic figure in horror cinema, celebrated for her striking beauty and captivating screen presence. In Black Sunday (1960), directed by Mario Bava, Steele delivers a mesmerizing dual performance as Prince...

Winnie’s Weekly Wonders: Top 10 Christmas Holiday Horror Movies

The holiday season is upon us, and while most people turn to cheerful classics like Home Alone or Elf, some of us prefer our Christmas cheer with a side of blood. So, here’s a list of some of the best holiday horror movies to watch again.

1. Black Christmas (1974)

Widely regarded as one of the first slasher films, Black Christmas tells the story of a group of sorority sisters terrorized by a mysterious killer during the holidays. Its eerie atmosphere and unsettling phone calls make it...

Winnie’s Weekly Wonders: Horns of Horror and a Crying Munster Movie Shame

Howdy all. Starting with a recent horror collage with a Heaven and Hell theme. Did a few of them you’ll find on Instagram, but this is my favorite, I think.

Anyway, Halloween is fast approaching, and it’s always been my absolute favorite time of year. It brings out my creative side like no other holiday. I love the eerie, otherworldly vibe that comes with it. It’s been so warm in Colorado this year, so it’s been a magical time, sitting on the deck, sipping wine longer than usual in 70-80...
