Meet The Author - in a Coffee Shop

Both writers and readers tend to think of in-person author events taking place on a broad platform – library talks, the ubiquitous literary festival – but in East Yorkshire one man who can’t find time to complete his own debut novel has found the time to set up a bookshelf in a coffee shop.Realising just how difficult it is for indie authors to get their books in front of prospective readers,

Take an inter-schools competition, a sink-estate, a group of eleven year olds from dysfunctional families… and a murder. This is no genteel Famous Five novel, neither is it a book aimed at children.

Much slower than I want it to at the moment. Too many claims on my concentration with other projects. After hassles with multiple publishers and an agent I went indie when the ebook market opened, but its been a big learning curve. There again, what isn't?

People keep asking how much of me there in in Charlie Fox and vice versa. I used to claim it was all made up but they didn't believe me anyway so now I just say it's entirely autobiographical :)

Oh please, tell me about it! Do these people have no imagination? At least you *look* as if you could carry off yours, unlike me - LOL!

Have a good weekend.

Linda
