"Blueprint for a Battlestar" Book Preview!

Hello and happy holidays to all the fine people on Goodreads! I wanted to let you know that my small contribution to your holiday cheer is here: a first-chapter preview of my new book "Blueprint for a Battlestar" is available at LiveScience.com (https://goo.gl/6OZCli).

I also have a select number of review copies of "Mars:Making Contact" and "Amazing Stories of the Space Age" available. Write me directly for details.

I hope everyone has a great holiday and a happy new year! See you on the far side of 2016.

The Blur of 2017 & Nudging Fame... Not.

How does one discuss the subjective passage of time without lapsing into cliches? One cannot. So I'll just do the best I can: so far, 2017 feels like cresting Everest in a T-shirt and floppies: a wonderful but exhausting effort, for which I am ill-equipped and under-resourced.

In this case, the equipment is time and the resources are, well, time. I completed three books las year, and will probably finish two this year. This does not count the tech yearbook I'm writing for NASA/JPL, which would make three again. Thank goodness I love this work.

For anyone who is interested, here are the media specs for the remainder of the first quarter:

--I'm the featured guest on PBS's "Between the Lines" which began broadcasting nationally on March 18, discussing my new book "Mars: Making Contact." More info here: https://barrykibrick.com/.

--I gave a talk at Vroman's Books in Pasadena last week, which was taped for C-SPAN's "Book TV," to be broadcast later this month.

--Besides my regular "Cool Space News" slots on KFI/Los Angeles (AM 640), I now have a podcast up at iHeart Media. The first installment is here: https://goo.gl/MvBtRF

Well on my way to becoming an overnight success after 13 years. Sorta. More news at my website: http://www.rodpylebooks.com.
