A trip to the south of France set me on the road of my writing career. I had itchy feet after that. The only way to survive and travel was to turn freelance. I turned my back on a staff job on Woman's Own nd struck out into the unknown. I was lucky. Editors liked my work and I was soon writing for all the big nationals and magazines. I travelled. I lived my dream in Italy. I wrote short stories based on the experiences I had. A plum job was writing about restaurants for the BA magazine High Life. All that gorgeous food and wine without a penny to pay. Then I went back to study. I took a degree and courses in creative writing and reinvented myself. My plays won awards. Jennifer Pulling I am happy to say this is something that doesn't strike me often. However, I think almost every writer experiences doubt about their work sometimes. I…moreI am happy to say this is something that doesn't strike me often. However, I think almost every writer experiences doubt about their work sometimes. It is important to balance those solitary hours at the computer with joining the human race. I also find a good long walk exercises not only the body but stimulates the mind. When teaching, I suggest to students that sitting down in the morning and simply writing without censor as thoughts come into your mind also helps unblock any block.(less)

As a playwright i have worked with great teams to bring a play to life. and as a writer of books entered many different worlds. For the love of cats

Every day I receive emails from lovly people who, holidaying on the island of Sicily, encounter a cat abandoned or in distress. They want to know how to help. I am happy that, in some small way, I can give them pointers.
