ARE YOU A WALK-IN? SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION

Chapter 1Questions From the Curious Living
•
Are you a walk-in, and if so, is that how you became a medium?
The first time I was asked if I was a walk-in was in the early 1980’s. My reply was “I don’t know.” I really didn’t know much about walk-ins then.
Let’s first clarify what a walk-in is considered. In 1979 Ruth Montgomery, psychic and author of several books introduced in her book, Strangers Among Us, the concept of what is considered a walk-in. “Walk-ins,” she said, “are people from other dimensions who have walked in or came into a mature person’s body with the full consent of the person’s soul intellect.” She also said, “this isn’t a forced incarnation or takeover of a body as in being possessed. (I will discuss more about possession in a later question). The person agrees to leave her or his body and make it available to this new soul rather than go through physical death.

A walk-in occurrence may take place during a traumatic event like a serious illness or an accident. The situation may include a NDE, but not necessarily so. The person might choose to be open to a walk-in because they never quite fit in, feel foreign in their body, and no matter how they might try, can’t relate to anyone. It becomes too painful to continue to try and the person falls into depression. A person who lives this kind of painful mental, emotional and physical life leaves their bodies open to walk-ins. The pain can lead to a depression so severe a person attempts to take his/her life.
It is reported that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the charismatic civil rights leaders circa 1960, at the age of twelve tried to commit suicide when his grandmother passed away suddenly. At the time of this event, Martin disobeyed his parents’ instructions to stay home and not attend a parade. He went and returned hours later to learn his grandmother had died. Grieved from her death and guilty he had disobeyed his parents’ orders young Martin went upstairs and jumped from the second story window of his house. Of course he survived to go on and became a historical figure that greatly influenced millions and reshaped American society. Could his moment of grave despair be considered an opportunity for a walk-in to appear?
Please note: Not all with the above mentioned ills and challenges are open to walk-ins. You will read later my thoughts on my own experience with regards to my NDE and life thereafter.
What happens after the walk-in has adopted the body and mind? After a period of time and recovery from the trauma or illness, the person usually has noticeable different behaviorand her or his viewpoints of life changes. In some religions this might be considered having found God. The transition certainly won’t be an easy one for many reasons. Family and friends might feel bewildered by the sudden change and think or say such things as “she’s not her usual self” or “he seems to have gone off the deep end since the accident” and so forth.
Montgomery says in her book even some walk-ins are so confused and averse to living on earth he or she thinks, “Let me out of here!” Only, the new being has a clear intention and purpose. In time the being will settle down to help humanity advance in intelligent awareness and show them how to take greater care of fellow humans, animals and nature. This certainly sounds like Edgar Cayce who might have been a walk-in. Cayce was an American mystic who is considered the father of the New Age movement. At about the age of thirteen he got struck on the base of the spine by a ball in a school game. After the accident there seemed to be no apparent injury, although he behaved badly. The normally quiet boy threw things at his sisters and was disrespectful to his father. Eventually when put to bed and when asleep he began to talk. As his parents listened young Cayce diagnosed his ailment saying he was in shock. He gave the cure, which his family prepared and applied while the boy slept. The next morning he remembered nothing of the day, or talking in his sleep. He was back to normal. Soon after recovering he began to have psychic insights for others. In the years following the incident, Cayce, a devout fundamentalist Christian, was unsure whether his gift came from God or the devil or why it was given to him. He didn’t sway from his psychic medical readings and over the course of twenty-two years gave thousands of them while also helping advance the acceptance of psychic abilities.

HAPPY TRAILS, MY SWEET HORSE: PASSING OF A PET
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is heartbreaking, isn't it?
Yesterday I said good bye to my 29 year old Thoroughbred mare named Luna.
Horses are amazing animals. Powerful, beautiful, sensitive and aware. If you're calm, they are also. If you're patient, they will listen and trust you.
Establishing more of a partnership than "commanding" them will make for a good relationship as you handle this big animal with firmness and fairness. Of course, there are some experiencing fear or maybe previously abused that don't respond favorably right away.
Although I'd ridden others' horses for years and since a child loved them, Luna was my first owned horse. Because of health problems Luna couldn't be ridden by me and that brought about learning much more about horses than when I was riding.
I met Luna on a rainy February day 12 years ago. She was a rescue; battered and frightened, all bones with scars from physical abuse. She wouldn't come to me, kept running away so I said to my husband, "I'm not sure this is the horse for me." At that moment while I was looking away she came up from behind and put her big head right over my shoulder. Shifting my eyes to look at her, she was looking right into my eye. That sealed the deal. Adopted.
Examination revealed she was tattooed on her upper lip indicating she was a registered Thoroughbred. The vet thought most most likely had been used as a broodmare. X-rays revealed serious feet problems.
I really couldn't handle Luna well. Previous horse experience was with well trained and mannered ones. Walking her was like dealing with a wild rodeo beast. Away from the two horses she came in with Luna would became frantic; rearing and pulling me all over the ranch. Other horse people had plenty of advice - as they are prone to give freely - get rid of that horse! Some laughed at my inability to control her as she dragged me through the ranch.
Didn't stop me from hanging in there with her and onto her.
After much care, expense and headaches with this crazy horse we came to agreements and her true nature emerged: a sweet girl, although stoic in her affections, she endured my kisses. As we aged Luna would put her head to mine for kisses.
She loved kids and although I couldn't ride her due to her feet problems, they did.
Finally, the time came when I had to decide what was best. Those who have had beloved pets know the agony of that decision. For weeks I tossed and turned mentally and emotionally, not sleeping well - searching for the right answer for Luna's well being.
The Birds liked Luna - being so sweet she took them for a ride.
I hoped she'd recover but the truth of her health problems couldn't be ignored: more frequent and painful; not eating much, her eyes: long and tight - in pain instead of round and soft - well and happy.
Walking near impossible - each step almost falling over. On the day she was to gallop and buck over the rainbow, she walked fine without barely a hitch in her step. I voiced my concern to the vet, maybe this wasn't the right time.
The vet didn't say which was the best decision but he did share some stories of animals, big and small, when caregivers - owners - held on beyond reasonable care for their pets. I've done that with my dogs and cats. Still, I grieve and feel guilty - was I too hasty?
I'll miss running my hands through Luna's thick winter coat. I'll miss her eagerness to get out with me for a cruise around the ranch, stopping to munch grass and visit her horse friends.
My last words to Luna were, "I'll see you in heaven, don't run off until I get there." I kissed her for the last time and the vet came to her side.
Luna stole my heart. I loved her greatly.
I'll miss her.
Run free over the rainbow my sweet girl.

SPIRITS OF SUICIDE: THE DARK & LIGHT

Don't leave Earth. You can help heal it.
For the first time after fifty years I publicly reveal my own experience about attempting suicide to offer guidance to the living about the loved one who took her/his life.
What are your thoughts about suicide?
There is stigma about those who attempt or commit suicide; what was wrong with her/him? It’s so selfish. Guess they were crazy, they didn’t care or think of those who love them etc.
Louis Hay says in her book, You Can Heal Your Life, those who commit suicide are "Tunnel Visioned" - only darkness, no options and that is true.
As a troubled young woman soon after my near death experience, I attempted to leave the pain of living in, what I saw, a cruel world. I was pained mentally, emotionally and physically - feeling squeezed by all sides, no way out but to follow the darkness to a hopeful quiet place of rest.
After all Heaven was so blissful and now back to this? I saw no joy, thought no-one understood me, felt no love.
Lost, I was soul lonely.
Luckily, I was found and received the needed help to become the person I am today.
As a medium grieving relatives and friends of suicide victims ask me to help them understand why she/he committed suicide and to connect with the spirits to learn if they're at peace or still in pain.
In my book, How to Talk With Spirits: Seances, Mediums, Ghost Hunts you'll learn more, but now I share to help the grieving find some solace for your aching heart.
When the suicide spirit first leaves the body they continue feeling lost; drifting in darkness, maybe to some degree free of the pain the sought to flee from. Untethered from the physical body they remain confused and lost.
Eventually most find what they’re seeking, but some don’t and they can plague the living as ghosts, but that’s another subject for another time.
I’ve learned from spirits the comfort they seek remains unfounded until they surrender to the Light and Love Of The Divine Source –– God, Buddha, Allah.
Do they miss loved ones left behind? After the initial out of all that stuff lessens, they do. They feel guilty and sad for causing pain. They hear loved ones voices crying to understand WHY??? This can add to their already painful state as they float with no anchor of peace.
My advice to the grieving living is, send comforting thoughts to those who took their lives. Try to understand it's not you, it's the person's decision and inability to stop the tunnel vision, to believe they can't be released from the pains.
As best you can in time with calmness in mind and heart even if for only a few minutes begin sending mental messages of love while holding a hand over your heart. Say mentally or aloud her/his name you wish they find peace and comfort
From your heart to her/his heart connect with love perhaps in a color vibration– yellow like the sun; pink as in joy, blue peace, green healing energy.. Sit quietly in a semi-dark room. Light a candle to send your message and connect in a calm loving way that you know she/he left because life seemed cruel to them, not perhaps you were cruel or unkind - but to them life - but the world or another. If you know you were not as loving as you could have been, ask for forgiveness.
Recall a specific memory to share with happier time photos. Talk to the spirit as though she/he were sitting with you. Acknowledge the contributions with their unique abilities and skills. Thank her/him for time spent with you; how much you appreciated her/him.
If not indoors, sitting in nature is a lovely way for communicating with spirit.
Difficult as this is in time you’ll find some comfort in memories. Know that you have helped to free your loved one from their pains and to travel into a peaceful place.
The will move into the Light to be comforted with Great Love. After a period of rest and learning from other spirits they’ll begin to their return to life perhaps like me, to comfort and teach others in pain.
After a while most likely you will hear from her or him thanking you for lovingly understanding.
I'm glad my life on Earth didn't end because I found purpose through love a wonderful son, a great husband, grandchildren, nature, animals and my life purpose; work I enjoy.
Blessing to you who feel there's no answer and to those left behind who feel terrible pain of loss.

PLAN YOUR NEXT LIFE: FUTURE REINCARNATION
WELCOME TO YOUR NEW LIFE
Over my many years as a psychic reader (now retired) and Certified Hypnotherapist I've been asked to help people discover and connect with another life time for various reasons - understand a certain relationship, heal an ailment, shed light on repeated images of certain times of history - many reasons to explore reincarnation.
"The soul comes from without into the human body, as into a temporary abode, and it goes out of it anew… it passes into other habitations, for the soul is immortal." - Ralph Waldo Emerson Transcendentalist Writer and Speaker
There's much to read about reincarnation, which has its roots in ancient Hindu philosophy and has influenced many a great Western mind but it's not my purpose to go into past lives, rather to move forward into a future life - your next life time.
"It is not more surprising to be born twice than once." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe poet, dramatist, director, novelist, scientist, critic, artist and statesman
If you subscribe to the belief that you've lived before, then you understand you shall live again. Most likely not the same physically, emotionally, mentally as you are now one can hope, a better you.
What will your new life be like? How will you look? Who will be in your life? Anyone from the present time?
Will you come back into a male or female body?
Where will you live on Earth? If not, Earth, what galaxy?
What will your purpose be to come back? Finish karma? In the present life, are you doing that now?
How are you preparing for your next incarnation?
Create new karma? What and why? What will you purpose be in a new life? What is it now?
It might be time for you to think and/or reflect a bit about your future life.
"I hold that when a person dies / His soul returns again to earth; / Arrayed in some new flesh disguise / Another mother gives him birth / With sturdier limbs and brighter brain." - - John Masefield, poet, writer, and Poet Laureate from 1930 until 1967.
Now, I know quite a few say, "Oh, I'm not returning."
Really?
You've learned the lessons of being "whole"?
The complete spiritual values of compassion, patience, faith, hope and charity to those different than you?
You are a mystic understanding the human race without prejudice or judgement?
You're fully in-tuned to nature - wholly as an integral part of it with no sense of separation?
Then good!! You've passed centuries of learning, completing karma, and can now go "home". Otherwise, I'll see you back on Earth.
"The soul is not the body and it may be in one body or in another, and pass from body to body." Giordano Bruno, Scientist and Philosopher
In my upcoming on-line presentation (9/23/21) you'll contemplate the answers to the above questions and then prepare to envision a future life.
