ARE YOU A WALK-IN? SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION

Are you a walk-in, and if so, is that how you became a medium?
The first time I was asked if I was a walk-in was in the early 1980’s. My reply was “I don’t know.” I really didn’t know much about walk-ins then.
Let’s first clarify what a walk-in is considered.In 1979 Ruth Montgomery, psychic and author of several books introduced in her book, Strangers Among Us, the concept of what is considered a walk-in. “Walk-ins,” she said, “are people from other dimensions who have walked in or came into a mature person’s body with the full consent of the person’s soul intellect.” She also said, “this isn’t a forced incarnation or takeover of a body as in being possessed. (I will discuss more about possession in a later question). The person agrees to leave her or his body and make it available to this new soul rather than go through physical death.
A walk-in occurrence may take place during a traumatic event like a serious illness or an accident. The situation may include a NDE, but not necessarily so. The person might choose to be open to a walk-in because they never quite fit in, feel foreign in their body, and no matter how they might try, can’t relate to anyone. It becomes too painful to continue to try and the person falls into depression. A person who lives this kind of painful mental, emotional and physical life leaves their bodies open to walk-ins. The pain can lead to a depression so severe a person attempts to take his/her life.
It is reported that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the charismatic civil rights leaders circa 1960, at the age of twelve tried to commit suicide when his grandmother passed away suddenly. At the time of this event, Martin disobeyed his parents’ instructions to stay home and not attend a parade. He went and returned hours later to learn his grandmother had died. Grieved from her death and guilty he had disobeyed his parents’ orders young Martin went upstairs and jumped from the second story window of his house. Of course he survived to go on and became a historical figure that greatly influenced millions and reshaped American society. Could his moment of grave despair be considered an opportunity for a walk-in to appear?
Please note: Not all with the above mentioned ills and challenges are open to walk-ins. You will read later my thoughts on my own experience with regards to my NDE and life thereafter.
What happens after the walk-in has adopted the body and mind? After a period of time and recovery from the trauma or illness, the person usually has noticeable different behaviorand her or his viewpoints of life changes. In some religions this might be considered having found God. The transition certainly won’t be an easy one for many reasons. Family and friends might feel bewildered by the sudden change and think or say such things as “she’s not her usual self” or “he seems to have gone off the deep end since the accident” and so forth.
Montgomery says in her book even some walk-ins are so confused and averse to living on earth he or she thinks, “Let me out of here!” Only, the new being has a clear intention and purpose. In time the being will settle down to help humanity advance in intelligent awareness and show them how to take greater care of fellow humans, animals and nature. This certainly sounds like Edgar Cayce who might have been a walk-in. Cayce was an American mystic who is considered the father of the New Age movement. At about the age of thirteen he got struck on the base of the spine by a ball in a school game. After the accident there seemed to be no apparent injury, although he behaved badly. The normally quiet boy threw things at his sisters and was disrespectful to his father. Eventually when put to bed and when asleep he began to talk. As his parents listened young Cayce diagnosed his ailment saying he was in shock. He gave the cure, which his family prepared and applied while the boy slept. The next morning he remembered nothing of the day, or talking in his sleep. He was back to normal. Soon after recovering he began to have psychic insights for others. In the years following the incident, Cayce, a devout fundamentalist Christian, was unsure whether his gift came from God or the devil or why it was given to him. He didn’t sway from his psychic medical readings and over the course of twenty-two years gave thousands of them while also helping advance the acceptance of psychic abilities.

ORBS - SPIRITS AFLOAT OR FILM CORRUPTED?
WHITE LIGHTS - ORBSSIGN OF PARANORMAL ACTIVITY?
I have been involved in ghost hunts with a paranormal investigation group named The Haunted Bay: Paranormal SF and Beyond.
During the ghost hunt of a San Francisco landmark, The Defenestration Building (closed in July, 2014), we met a ghost of a frightened young woman dressed in only a full slip. She rushed toward me and the filming crew covered in blood. Her terror and quickness made us backpedal to get away. Most likely she was a victim of murder. Although, I was the only one who saw and heard her mentally, the others felt the tension. The woman came only so far down the long hallway then the image of her running toward us repeated. She was stuck in the time and place of her terror.
Later, the producer, Ying Liu and cinematographer, Matthew Abaya, returned with a camera to, hopefully, capture the ghost’s image. The photographs show orbits of light and flashing streaks.
The investigators thought it was inconclusive evidence because they were looking for a figure, a complete form of the woman.
For me it was proof because I’ve seen many similar photographs of spirits and ghosts taken with different cameras. This kind of white orb light or flashes of whitish light is common when photographing spirits and ghosts. It appears as though the movement of energy is captured.
One viewer of the woman in the Defenstration video commented, “...the Polaroid (photos) are spooky…a silhouette of a girl on the lower left…there is a set of legs in the middle…(in the) Fight & Murder Hall…a face staring right at the camera and the presence behind us. I don’t know if it’s a bearded man or a long-haired woman…”
Watch the video to decide for yourself if the shadows and lights are indeed an energy moving toward the camera crew. SPELLS, PRAYERS, AFFIRMATIONS,
Spells, prayers, creative visualizations and affirmations are similar.
They are all forms of communication - mental and spoken and telepathic messages.
In what way, you might ask.
When we speak aloud and at times silently a spell, prayer, or affirmation we are making a statement or a request to someone or something outside ourselves or to the inner self. For instance one might say, "I pray I have enough strength to continue with ___________."
In that statement of intention there is no called upon deity, it is more to self. See?
The mental imagery, telepathic messages to, again a deity or the universe, are occurring. What you think so be it.
All three have common components: a desire or need, a focus outside themselves to attain the desire or need and faith in the power and that the plea, creation and intention is heard and in the progress of manifesting. Of course they all use the power of words.
As a writer (four books later) I understand the power of words, how to present to paint a picture, to engage another to hear (read) for further interaction, or catch that though and/or emotion of another.
Words are powerful. Learn to chose positive, powerful, and descriptive words that convey and paint a true picture of what you are thinking and hoping to manifest in your might, be it words that are poetic, magical, straight forward, but be careful of how you pose those words.

A spell is direct in wording and intention - this is what I'm creating through the power of myself, the clarity of my mind, the help of the universe (planets, Divine sources as in goddess and gods) and the energy from above, below and all around.)
Those who cast depend upon their own ability and self-power along with the energy/vibrations surrounding them as in the universe, to manifest their dreams, visions, wants, needs etc.
They cal in the power of energies from the four directions, east (air -mental clarity); south (fire- action, energy, passion); west (water - dreams, visions, spiritual connections) and north (earth - results, products, practicality) to support and enlighten them to create. They will also call in the energies from above (heavens) and below (the earth).
Before casting a spell it is advised do everything humanly possible to attain whatever one wants. Actions: have your actions followed your thought? You want a a good paying job? What prep work have you done before the job?
Just don't go cast a spell without first thinking what will it mean to your life and the life of those of others? Is it really what you want? Beware of what you ask for idea.
Once you have completed your spell don't look back. Give it time to work. Don't cast it again for at least thirty days or longer. That's unless you're doing a three, seven or nine day spell consecutively or have decided to do it once a week twice or thrice.
Prayers are asking for many things. I pray each and everyday. I'll often say the Hail Mary.
Some people pray by asking for little things, as in let me pass this test, let my team win the game (really? Like God or whichever deity is thinking yeah, beat someone else and let them feel badly); show me a sign he or she loves me or like me I pray too often for St. Anthony to find lost items (I'm cutting back on that.) Of course, sometimes we pray for big things like for a miracle in a dire medical situation or world peace.
Prayers can have too many words. Rambling thoughts. Desperate, pleading words for God, Allah, whomever, to fix whatever. Certainly in those worst moments of life, in dire times, we are desperate for a relief of our situation, our pain. Often we use words from prayers learned rather than prayers from your heart. People often go on and on, talking to their Divine Connection, pouring out emotions, making deals, reminding God etc how they are good people, worthy people or unworthy and now they see the error of their ways.
Most people learn to pray by being dependent upon an entity greater than and outside of themselves to provide a hopeful successful outcome to a need, want and/or dream. They ask permission from this source. They give their power to this entity to receive if the entity deems them worthy. There are those who bargain, if you give me this then I will do this_______.
If you are praying for an outcome of a rather serious need, remember to stop praying/talking and listen for your Divine Being. Then you can hear or realize the response, the message. Praying is talking, meditating is listening. Have faith. Believe

Creative Visualization - Goal setting and practical applications followed by an affirmation: Creative Visualize is powerful for it is the images, symbols and all created in the mind. To be most successful at creative visualization take time to be clear. Check what you are thinking (what mental wording is floating through your). Have a talk with yourself to clear up any negative and/or fearful thoughts about what it is you wish to create in life, different from what you have now. I suggest you write what you are planning on creating. Once you've done that go through what you wrote and rewrite it in simple sentences, no more than three. Does it sound reasonable? Are the words in line with the picture in your mind?
When you do this you are in a better place to start creating. A bit of both inside and outside yourself is taking place - direct focus and placing faith in another occurs. For instance you understand that you will take action to fulfill your goal while realizing you are pulling in the assistance of a source outside your present conciseness. I.e. " I'm also dependent upon the support of another or others to fulfill this goal."
Of course a goal setter can also cast a spell as well as pray. See Ask the Coaches (sfcoaching.com ask) for some goal setting and achieving advice.
Affirmations: I like affirmations no matter how I'm manifesting and/or praying for. An affirmation is a simple, one sentence thought to create a feeling, a power, and/or a situation. Positive (and negative) wording mentally, written and spoken aloud create an energy. "I create loving people in my life to support my goals." - Nice and simple, no? Simple wording you can remember, your brain can absorb and following your thoughts, your actions will support.
Write an affirmation at least three times a day 3 or 9 times (you decide) for twenty-one days then put down your pen and let it all happen. Chances are, it's already occurring before the twenty-one days are over. Pay attention to the often subtle signs, the steps leading you forward. Trust me on this one. Sometimes it seems, like in prayers and spells as though you're not getting what you want. If done properly, it is in the process.
I do all to fulfill my valuable goals and live authentically my purpose and mission in life. Blessed be you and your dreams and goals this year.

Most of you who follow me know after forty + years it's rare I give private psychic readings.Rather, I focused on my paranormal investigations (YouTube The Haunted Bay), writing, and my great love, teaching.

Although mostly retired it's as an artist, creating is an energy an a vibrational force that has to be acted upon. So glad I decided to do this.

Do this spell during a waxing moon, which is considered to be when we 'grow things' - getting brighter and closer to the full moon of celebration.

In 1973 I began my study of the cards and continuing it with studying the Major Arcana cards with the Kabbalah (Cabbala, Qabbalah) and Jewish Mysticism for greater insights.
With my dyslexic mind and never thinking of myself as a heady, academic, intelligent being, ladies and gents, the combination study is a true challenge to me. Slowly, I've gained so much and want to share hence back to teaching.
New adventure: Skype classes with students from four different U.S.A states. In-person happening too in the Bay Area.

I was contacted to give an example of how the tarot cards combine with coaching to attain goals, hence part part two of my precious blog.
Major Arcana's 22 cards' images and symbols are studied in depth. Handouts of a short description and an affirmation for each card are provided.
I use the Rider/Waite deck:
0: The Fool starts the journey (far left): It represents the first breath, prana, spirit awakening to a dream, vision or idea. Creating new karma. All the power that ever was or will be is here now. Are you foolish to dream you could have that something in your life? Or, as the fools of old by in court, will you amuse the king and queen and be handsomely rewarded for your ingenious, creative acts making you the winning fool?
Coaching starts with asking:
What do you want differently in your life? What idea or dream do you want to bring into form?
Affirmations support and advance your success.
The Fool: There is nothing to fear.
Next step #1 The Magician. Short definition: As above so below. As below so above. All magic is in the will to dare. Name your idea: (I want a new job; I'm ready for a loving relationship. I want to make more money. etc) The tools to build your idea sit before you. Which tool will you choose? (see the table with the sword, cup, pentacle and wand, each has a specific meaning to how we manifest ideas)
Coaching: Will you say yes to manifesting it? What do you need to do that?
Affirmation: As I say yes to life, life says yes to me.
The High Priestess follows and she is deep in thought of why, how and what is next.
The World is the culmination of the cards' steps.What do you think that message is?

MOM & TEA LEAF READINGS
My mother was quite entertaining with her scary bedtime stories, interest in the mysterious and supernatural (love One Step Beyond TV show) and delighted us with tea leaf readings.

We just celebrated my mother's ninetieth (90) birthday at her favorite tea room and concluded the luncheon by exchanging tealeaf readings, which we learned from mom.
Being a Scottish family a good hot cuppa of black loose-leafed tea blended perfectly with milk and sugar, This was our breakfast brew.
Sometimes when the cups were emptied my mother would read our tea leaves -only for fun she'd remind us, being a good and faithful Catholic. No shenanigans with that "old black magic beliefs!" She was devoted to Mary, Our Lady, Jesus' mother, and when any of her children were in dire need for help Mom would be asked to speak to Our Lady on our behalf. The problem was more often than not cleared up. Now, you couldn't ask too often or for frivolous things. Yes, Mom had an in with Mary.
As far back as I can remember Mom has loved the mysterious and supernatural. Her love for spooky and "unusual" sparked an interest in her children, an interest that continued to grow as we did. Like some of my siblings (the rest are in denial I think) I read the tealeaves, (of course), tarot cards, aura's, and see spirits as did my mother.
Although she'd never admit to having special psychic abilities, Mom also had prophetic dreams and saw spirits - the first she mentioned was her brother Alec who drowned during WWII. Whilst on her honeymoon she saw him appear at the foot of the bed hours before the news of his death came to the family.
When we were kids we'd sit with mouth's hanging open at the breakfast table as she recounted, in great dramatic detail, the previous night's television program One Step Beyond (too late for us kids). Afterward we'd have to scamper down the steep San Francisco hills to a day with the nuns, head full of spooky images with the promise not to speak a word of it.
Friday nights we'd get to stay up late and with her would watch The Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
She's not crazy about me being a witch though or preferring the free thinking Rosicrucian knowledge and practice. Mom is mostly dismayed about some of her daughters being witches and pagans, wishing we'd have remained faithful to Catholicism as she has. But on an odd day Mom says, Maybe I'm the head witch, eh? Giving her sweet smile.
Living through the bombings of Glasgow during World War ll, emigrating to Canada on an ocean liner with five kids (father looking for more lucrative work), back to Scotland with one more kid and once again following my father to the USofA now with seventh kid (the one in pic above with Mom) where #8 and last baby was welcomed, surviving the crazy and wild times of her teen children during of the San Francisco 1960s, and all the other things that come with eight kids and a strong-willed husband, I think my mother is a most wonderful woman. HALLOWEEN, A SPOOKY, good time and all for amusement, right?
The night is much more than just for fun. All Hallows Eve or Halloween and November First and Second are sacred times for many throughout the world to honor the dead.
Cultures have special days to honor ancestors and the dead like the Celts and Mexicans.
The Catholic Church combined the pagan beliefs with their own to create a day to honor the saints on November first as did Mexico's Indigenous people for the Day of the Dead.
Celtic pagans believed the veils between the two worlds- that of the living and dead - thin then drop so spirits can walk the earth to visit their living relatives before crossing back over to the “Underworld.”
The spirits were not only our loved ones, but also all spirits who want to walk the earth, feel alive and connect to the living. During the spirits’ visit, spooky things happened, as you can imagine.
The Celts disguised themselves to waylay troublesome or evil spirits so they wouldn’t recognize and haunt people. Tradition warned people, especially the elderly, the sick and the young, to stay safely hidden inside so they wouldn’t be grabbed and taken to the “Underground.”
You can enjoy a most beautiful and heartfelt ritual in your home on All Hallows - Halloween. It can be an elaborate affair or a simple one as read in my book.

IT WAS A SMASH.
I hope you had a fun, sacred Hallowe'en and Holy Day of the Dead.
I hobbled on over to an event planned for the past four months through my injury and surgery. Nothing was going to stop me.
We had hoped for a smashingly good time - and got it! Everyone laughing and talking and some getting tarot readings and then so quiet and interested in the later ritual event.
Three of us led and performed a ritual of the season's message. This first time offered private event was sold out by September first and held at a favorite wine bar in my home town.
Fun was had, tarot readings, book sales, wine flowed, The Haunted Bay video entertained people and all leading up to a beautiful ritual to remember ancestors and departed loved ones.
The story of the season - why do we celebrate by dressing up and handing out candy was told. It is based on the weather, the survival of life from pagan times, and the belief in spirits of loved ones continue to flourish on another plane of time and space.
The Altar was a glow with beautiful candle lights.As part of the ritual we invited the guests to partake in a guided meditation to connect with departed loved ones. It was most moving as guests felt the sorrow and the joy of sensing, or feeling a connection.
The proprietor said she looked forward to doing it next year. She hadn't ever seen a ritual as such nor realized that Hallowe'en time was much more than dressing up and having fun.
I led a lovely Hallowe'en ritual to connect with loved ones that really can be done at any time of the year.
