No Defence
No Time
If in Heaven all truth does lie
And one has no choice but to die
So speed the day so I might see
All the love that’s been lost to me.
If love being lost is to close that door
And Heaven is not my answer nor my cure,
Then a shattered heart will never mend
And my decisions are ones I cannot defend.
In pain with desperation and disbelief.
I seek the Heavenly answer to bring me relief,
But will that relief bring an end
To a heart that’s broken with no chance to mend.
Because mend it must before time be
Completely over and closed to me.

Sunday
The sun bathes the garden, the colours it ignites.
The sky is the blue that promises Heavenly delights.
The still air is broken only by the slightest of breeze.
The only sound is from the birds in the surrounding trees.
A spectrum of colour in all of its shades
A walk in the shadows or through sun-speckled glades.
Either feel good if you’ve mind so to do,
The choices are there, they’re all up to you.
A Sunday breaking forth serene and relaxed.
Imagination is on hold, creativity untaxed.
My mind lays dormant as it’s a time to reflect,
On a life well lived but far from perfect.
What life is this if there’s no joy to behold?
What life can it be with no stories to be told?
Where would life be without the rain and the sun?
How would one feel if it’s all over before it's all done?
But that is far off as you want on days such as this,
Watching the bees do their work as flowers they gently kiss.
Watch the sun as it changes the shadows to light.
Spend your days in your Heaven and rejoice in the sight!

Only Two Can Share
A star broke from the sky one night
And floated like a dream.
From its kiss, it needed to incite
The love it came to redeem.
A wave burst onto a stony shore
It stayed until the rocks were cleansed away.
The star kissed that wave and a flawless rose I saw
Bound to love it was borne on the spray.
The star did settle with that wave
And together they did swear,
That earth and Heaven will unite to save
A love that only two can share.

A Helicopter Ride
A Helicopter Ride
I hitched a ride on a helicopter to the moon and back
I looked at the earth and the earth was flat.
I asked a passing Martian if she knew the way,
She said, “sure man, sure. If I can play.”
We went to Saturn and we stole a ring.
We met Bob Dylan and we began to sing.
‘Take me high as a kite, hide the smoke underneath.
Ride the lacquered carriage wearing the bridal wreath.’
The vicar said the words and the truth was told,
An artist has a duty to stay warm, not cold.
A fire reached the moon and we fell to the ground.
Belief caved in with an almighty sound.
Breathing was a problem as the air smelled bad
There were tears in the sky because God was sad.
An albatross flew past, I couldn’t see where it went.
I pulled the elastic band and began the descent.
Paradise was open and a hand popped out,
A finger pointed the way but a sign said—Drought!
Happiness has no punishment, laughter has no gain.
Lies finished the partnership, but honesty ended the pain.
