Peter is the author of The Old Wounds trilogy and the Seasons of Change trilogy (3rd book due Dec 2024). The two trilogies form the first half of what will become an epic saga, full of heart-wrenching moments, gripping action and riddles & mysteries aplenty!

Peter was born in the UK but is now in his 24th year in Japan, where he lives with his wife and two sons. His childhood dream was to live in Norway and write books, so he got it half right.

Peter grew up reading Tolkien, Forgotten Realms and Roald Dahl. He played Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, and spent far too many hours on Dungeon Master, Phantasie III and Eye of the Beholder. A fan of 80s films such as Conan the Barbarian, Beastmaster, Red Sonja and Hawk the Slayer, Peter's heart is deepl

Let your fingers flow when they can, take a break when they don't. Keep going back to what you've written and hammer away at it. Or chisel away, might be a better image. Your book will take shape if you keep at it. When you can't seem to type anything decent, grab a pencil and notebook and get away from the computer (coffee shop, park etc.). I often find I can write something reasonable (in my exceedingly bad handwriting) and then type it up the next day. Good luck with it! (less)

If I Were A Carpenter…

It has been an age since I wrote a “blog”. An entire age of Middle Earth no less! Last time I wrote a blog Feanor was still in exile. Well, time to tap the keys once more. As I have written, the song “Rasputin” by Boney M is in my Top 5 of all time. I gathered as many covers as I could and wrote a blog. Please seek it out. Your life will be all the better for it.

And today I bring you another of my

Finishing this book was like coming home after a journey away - I feel like I've lived in the marsh with Kya. In those pages, I watched her grow, felt her pain and rare moments of joy, and imagined a world I have never seen.
Beautiful, mournful, soul-

"My little space-loving heart couldn't handle this book... it has all the wonderful aspects of The Martian but with ROCKY. Lord. Rocky. I don't think I've loved a character like this in ages. If you know, you know.

Lots of nerd science and dad jokes, " Read more of this review »

" Nice review! I agree about the ending. The day after finishing, I felt that was the natural conclusion of all that had gone before. "

"Ryland Grace wakes aboard the Hail Mary (which btw. I laughed and laughed all through the book about these names and their double meanings) with no memories, and there starts our journey as he tries to figure out the how, what, and why’s, of his circ" Read more of this review »

I can see why they've made this into a film. It's hopeful, has the buddy-buddy element, tense at times, and full of What ifs...?
It took me a little bit to get into it as I always have this gut reaction to present tense. I grew up playing gamebooks so

"The Dark Sapphic Romance that Inspired Dracula" runs the tagline.
So Sheridan Le Fann is a man. For some reason I had it in mind that the author was a woman (think I misread the name to Sherilan).
Anyway, this is an atmospheric tale about a vampire, C

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
