Maybe I should start by saying a few months ago (early 2022) I went up to the pearly gates of heaven.

And now I’d like to say how much I’ve enjoyed, and tormented on some, writing my books. The Proud Bastards and The Private War of Corporal Henson took some real gut-wrenching facing my feelings from the Vietnam War. As an 18-year-old in the Marine Corps I saw and did things that that no one should have to. After being traumatically wounded and returning home, the Vietnam War followed me. It remained with me all my life. And as I grew older, the memories, nightmarish scenes of carnage, flashbacks, and PTSD seemed to increase.

Having an interest in history, my next books, Of Blood and Brothers, Book 1 and 2, based on a true story of two brother

M.J. Payne A classic is a classic. There are many ways to approach it. The many works of Helms are classics. I have said all for now regarding that and wish all a best day. Read on and learn. Helms is kind with regards to his - I am sorry but I cannot make a description of how he is kind - make your own. I am not illiterate or stupid or do i lack talent. I am a woman.

Laurel Hello, again!

I was excited to see your book Deadly Catch: A Mac McClellan Mystery Deadly Catch A Mac McClellan Mystery by E. Michael Helms mentioned in the Toronto Star, Nov. 17th edition. Jack Batten, a Toronto author, writes a book review column called "Whodunnit: Jack Batten", every two weeks. This is what he said about Deadly Catch:

"There's something to be said for service in the two Iraq wars as experience for a career in private detecting back in the U.S.A. That's the case for Mac McClellan, a recently retired career Marine who fought at Fallujah among other murderous spots.

Now he's in the Florida panhandle for the fishing, but gets caught up in local trouble involving drugs, murder, and maybe incest.

The book's sense of place seems perfect, McClellan's character grows on the reader and if the plot is almost too tangled, a not bad story lurks somewhere in the thicket."

Happy for you, my friend! Thought you might not know about this review, and wanted to pass it on.
Laurel
