Enthralled by the magic that written stories contain, Jesse Nolan Bailey has always wanted to be an author. With his debut novel, THE JEALOUSY OF JALICE, and his shorter fiction, AMETHYST, released to the masses, he can now claim such title with relief. He lives in Durham, North Carolina, where he has embraced the equally-gratifying lifework of hosting a trio of spoiled cats and two mini-aussies.

This was not really a horror book by my standard. More of a tragedy wrapped in a Frankenstein sleeve, but there’s nothing very horrific in these pages, just layers of grief. An interesting tale nonetheless.

The story was interesting, but I wasn’t a fan of the writing style. Also didn’t feel like that brief scene at the gas station at the end was necessary (for reasons. Iykyk). It had some creepy scenes for sure, and it had some nerve-wracking scenes. Bu ...more

“Nature has a funny way of deceiving. The weak always think they’ve got a chance at survival. But the world burns in the end, and all things fade to ash.”
Jesse Nolan Bailey, Defilement and Other Stories

“You’re looking up and seeing the vastness of the universe, rather than the ground that tries to convince you that it is all that is and ever will be.”
Jesse Nolan Bailey, The Jealousy of Jalice

“Waste the air and speak,” the telepathic voice growled, “or I’ll rip your mind to shreds until nothing but a wish to die remains inside it.”
