2023 AAMBC MALE AUTHOR OF THE YEAR, Rod Palmer is the son of a carpenter and a nanny, born in a historic Gullah Geechie community in Charleston, SC. He received his degrees in creative writing and Afro studies at the University of South Carolina before becoming an author, and growing a list of eight published novels and counting. Currently he resides in Europe where he is a dedicated husband and girl-dad, enjoys travel and writing the next novel.

In fact, no one is perfect, and many who are blessed are still battling with somehing. This is what makes God so forgiving and merciful. God can even use people who have done some despicable things. For instance, Moses was a murderer, Noah was a heavy drinker, and Paul was a disciple attests that he had a thorn in his spirit that he asked God to remove, but God said His grace is sufficient. In a blink, the man sees himself in the mirror, his eyes slender and cunning, but the room has change on him; he is looking into his home from the other side, from a window, not a mirror; the killers now beside him, while in front of him, a darker self swipes the straight razor off the sink, leaves, and seconds later, the man hears his wife scream and then gurgle.(less)
