What am I up to?
I'm still writing the second book in my series. I'm hoping to have it ready for your Christmas list. I've rewritten the beginning of my first book! I'm offering it as a Goodreads Giveaway. I am an author not a reader here at Goodreads. I'm confused about what I will do next. Do I finish the second book, or do I create and Audible book for the first book and have it ready by Christmas? And then take my time with the second book and put out an Audible book with it when I put out the sequel. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this...

What am I up to again?
Right now, I'm binge-watching Glee... It is so High School and yet it reminds me of Goodreads too.
Yesterday when I talked about this it was about the superficial things in High School. Did I get your attention? I often feel no one is listening here.
Today I'm going to talk about the real friends that you make. That group of people that will give you their attention without begging for it. People who are there to support you without expecting something in return other than your friendship.
People you want to be in your life after High School.
I found the workplace can be much like High School too. Hang on to those real friends you make in life in both of those places.
Social media can be worse than High School. Everything is anonymous. It is hard to get that "real" personal connection, easy to be judgmental.
I've been so lucky to find a few good friends here.
Just some thoughts from an old troll...

What am I up to?
Right now, I'm binge-watching Glee... It is so High School and yet it reminds me of Goodreads too.
There are so many popular kids who like my autistic granddaughter are so self-absorbed.
Constantly acting out, seeking the attention of others, adding to their friends list while shining on and ignoring the ones they already have because they already have them. You must be important for them to notice and only until you've served your purpose.
There are other autistic kids who are so painfully shy that they don't even try to get noticed. Afraid that if you do notice them you will shove them into a locker because you can. Secretly, I know they do it because they want to impress the popular people and hide how shy they are themselves.
My granddaughter doesn't think I see through her behavior, but I do, and I try to help her see through it herself, but it is a processing issue, and it takes a lot of work to get your points across to her.
It makes me so happy when I see those small changes in her behavior that indicate I'm getting through... just a little.

Massive information dump
I came to this forum because I heard it was the best place to get your book reviewed. Good reviews would be best, but you can learn from even bad reviews. I'm not afraid of bad reviews, if they are meant well and want to tell you how to do it better next time.
My first book was a rating disaster. I didn't write Th3 Reborn to be a best seller. I wrote it to figure out how to write best sellers and what I wanted them to say. I got the idea when I read my favorite author's first story that he could not even get published in a magazine.
Robert A. Heinlein's first story contained so many ideas he would later create into terrific books. I wanted to do the same. That's why I created Th3 Reborn.
It was a story written in first person narrative, containing a shit load of scientific conjecture to create a universe the character (Th3) could discover over the course of billions of years and how he survived that long to make those discoveries. The storyline was a synopsis of a brief outline of the books I wanted to write based on each chapter of Th3 Reborn.
As a reviewer you can obviously tell that kind of book is not going to be a best seller. But I went to this place where writers go to tell their stories and get feedback from other writers.
I got their feedback on Th3 Reborn. A few liked it but most did not. But I didn't go there only for Reborn. I went there to get the beginnings of my first book based on those chapters in Th3 Reborn.
I got their criticisms and looked at their writing styles. I figured out I was missing a lot of descriptive adjectives and scene description. I took my thoughts home and worked on my writing style and read a lot of popular books to see how others authored their stories.
My first book based on Reborn turned into 200,000 words with another possible 100,000 words to go. The first 100,000 words pretty much stood alone and formed the basis for all of the other books meant to follow.
So, here I am trying to get reviews on my very first REAL book meant to be read by others and I was about to tell you the story about how Debbie Roth https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/8... became my first reader and reviewer, on Kindle for the YA version, and you should definitely look her up and get to be her friend because she is a good one... seriously.
I was going to beg someone else to be the first reader and reviewer on Kindle of the Mature version and discovered that Tanya https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1... had done it already! Thank you so very much too, you are another good friend and you have made me cry... Thank you!

What to Blog? Let me think...
What can a writer blog about on Goodreads? That was the first question I asked myself when I started this blog. The first answer I produced was my book. That is my primary interest here... not reviewing someone else's work.
There are plenty of readers here who want to do that job and frankly are much better at it than I am. Then again, there are some others that are not particularly good at it and pretend they read something they didn't. So, a new thought I've had would be, tell about my experiences here and the people I've met.
I've tried blogging about my book sales... few seem interested although I did do better than I expected in my giveaways. I had one customer for my free offer on Amazon, get their request for it in at the last minute and it showed up on the next day's business. Congratulations!
For the rest of you, sorry my free offers are over for a while. There is a countdown deal still going on for the mature version. I think my next blog will be about why I have two versions of the same book.
