Happy Birthday, FTM!!
Face the Music is celebrating it's first birthday this week!
Or, maybe its an anniversary? What should I call it?
Either way, we're celebrating with a sale! For a limited time, grab a copy for only 99 cents. I've JUST gone in to the retailers and requested the price change, and sometimes it takes a few days to update, so keep checking back to your favorite eBook seller to take advantage of the offer!
I'd also like to shout out a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been supportive of Face the Music. I never, in my craziest of dreams, imagined I'd be having so much fun. YOU ALL ROCK!!
If you haven't already, find me on Facebook and Twitter. I've got some fun things planned!!

A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words
When I first released Face the Music, sales were going...okay. A few here, a few there, but nothing to write home about. iBook sales picked up in August, but after many flattering reviews, flatlined after a few weeks.
In September, I started working with a designer (Judy Bullard: http://www.customebookcovers.com/inde...) on a new cover. I didn't necessarily want to invest more money in the book (I'd already paid an editor $3,000), but I reasoned that a new, professional looking cover might be the face lift that Face the Music needed.
I may have been right. At least from Amazon's perspective.
In the first three months, a whopping 87 copies sold through Amazon. The new cover was uploaded on September 10th, and between that time and the end of September, sales jumped to 181.
So far this month, Face the Music has sold 796 copies.
It all adds up for a total of 977 copies sold since uploading the new cover. I guess it turned out to be a wise investment, after all.
It's been said that a picture is worth 1,000 words. I have no doubts now that a new cover is worth 1,000 books sold. At least.

We Aim to Please
We've all heard the phrase, "You can't please everyone." I think most of us, to some degree, can appreciate the truth this statement holds.
In the short time that Face the Music has been available, some people have pointed out certain qualities of the story that they most enjoyed (like the pacing of the story or the personalities of the characters). As a writer, those types of comments are what inspire me to keep writing.
What has become so interesting, though, is the feedback that criticizes those very aspects of the book that other people so highly praise. It just goes to show that, no matter how hard we try, it really is impossible to please everyone.
So, now I'm wondering, all you Contemporary/New Adult Romance fans, what aspects of a story do YOU enjoy most? Do you prefer an intense, fast-paced drama? Or do you prefer to take things slow? How much "heat" do you look for in those love scenes? Do you want to know every little last detail, or would you rather some things be left to the imagination? Talk to me about characters...is your ideal heroine sweet and shy or more of a troublemaker at heart? What about our heroes?
It is the diversity of opinion that makes the world such an interesting place...
