This one is more than a little hard to categorize. -It's historical in a sense, set in the early 1960's--with all its turmoil and tech limitations. -It's magical realism, to be sure--featuring an aquatic man-creature who is ancient yet vastly superio ...more |

“I didn't just love him…I needed him. Not in some desperate "you complete me" sort of way. No, Vincent didn’t make me whole. He improved me. Something about him—something I didn't understand—had a way of amplifying the good in my nature while muting the bad. He was a catalyst for my soul. I didn't need him in order to exist...I needed him in order to be a better me.”

I've been rocking it a few years now, but I just recently updated the author photo. Makes it a little easier to spot me in a crowd. ;P

I was perhaps a touch more...diplomatic in phrasing, I think. ;P But I did end up agreeing with you completely.

heheheh... no shame We all loved Twilight! ;)

Looking forward to sharing opinions on books! :o)"
Thanks for accepting the invite, Chryssa! :)
I always like to consider the opinions of people who share such similar tastes in books. ^_^ Thank you in advance for taking part in helping me decide what I should read next. ;) I hope my reviews might be of some use to you as well.

I'm actually not surprised on the difference of opinion in the HG series. I thought the second one was VERY similar to the first, and I know many people who found that disappointing and non-progressive. And with the last book being more centered on the war than on the characters, I think the high-action/stratagem of it appealed more to males, generally speaking. (My theory, anyway.)
But yes, anyways...enjoy your weekend! ^_^
