Thank You – And let’s have a creative 2015

Hello there! :) How were your holidays? Was it all hectic or did you have some time to relax and do other things you normally don’t do along the year?

Mine were absolutely hectic, and I did almost nothing of what I planned (i.e. reading and advanced house cleaning!). But I did connect with closest family and friends, which was good for the mind and soul.

Before I head any further on this little letter, I’d like to THANK YOU.

In May 2014 I started an adventure on the self-publishing playground and have been absolutely fortunate to come across wonderful people – such as you – who have given me support in many ways. You took of your precious time in provide feedback, supporting my work with reviews and blogposts and nonetheless, purchasing it!

So, what is worth… Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! :D \m/

Now that we all said goodbye to 2014 , let’s follow through 2015 with tons of creativity, inspiration, prosperity, achievement and realization. If you’re a reader, I hope you enjoy yourself and enhance your wisdom with great books. If you’re an author, I hope you are the one providing those great books to our community – we thank you for that! :)

description As for me, I am glad to announce I am publishing an illustrated miniseries in 3 episodes, called “A Cold-Hearted Phoenix” in a few months. Soon I will tell more about the project, so stay tuned for this one!

I have just published as well “No Escapes VOL. 1 – Melancholic Beauty in Norwegian Landscapes” , which is a reference art book for painters and photographers. It is not a table book, as some may think, but because of the way it is built, it can be enjoyed by pretty much anyone who likes landscapes, arts and photography in general. As the title suggests, the book is melancholic, moody and somewhat dark. The second volume is coming somewhere on the second semester.

See you soon, have a great time!

It's Friday 13th and here is a little Classic Horror drawing

description After years doing digital work, I am rekindling with ink and paper. As an artist, it is important that I do studies in both digital and traditional media and I have basically abandoned the last part for a while.

This week, however, after months trying to reconnect with my roots, I finally found the motivation and right mindset to do that.

Here comes a little drawing, Frankenstein - not from the book, - but from the classic movie. I used a mechanical penciler for the draft and 0.3 + 0.5 mm ink pens.

You can see more of my artworks, including book covers, on my new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/helheimendes...

So, what are you reading or watching Horror-wise this Friday?
I will be drawing another classic Horror/Gothic character and hope to post it soon :-)

Stay dark! Thanks for visiting!

Launching 2 YouTube channels – Art channel out now! Come check it out!

descriptionHi there, guys! :-) December, the key that closes 2017, has arrived… And I would say, it came rather too quickly!

Now, it’s the time of the year where most have too much work and many social events to attend as well as hunting for gifts and planning for the big holidays.

I have a Christmas post prepared for you, but that one comes later! ^.^

Today, I’d like to share with you that I am launching 2 YouTube channels:

- Tragic Books: where I will do Gothic Book reviews, talk about self-publishing, writing and show you my own book projects. This channel will start in January 2018!

- Helheimen Design: where I do art book reviews, talk about art and artist problems and show making ofs, tips and tutorials based on my own paintings.

This channel is now out, and the first video you watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=robYW... showcasing the art book and calendar of my artist friend Pierangelo Boog.

If you’d like to support my work, you can subscribe, leave a like or a comment :-D Hope you enjoy it!

Have a great time, good luck organising your month and see you soon!
