I was recently invited to offer storytelling and creative writing workshops through North America, and as I was choosing from my repertoire of lesson plans which ones to adapt into mindfulness workshops, How to Write Poetry was born. It is essentially the material that has worked best in my career of teaching, tutoring, writing and editing.(less)

Alone and Together – A Conversation Inspired in Collective Solitude

I open to sky    clouds and blue summer   yield to the peace of lying still   back eases into alignment   injuries subside    this life I wish I’d shared with you    I surrender to solitude, creation and writing    focus   lying in wild flowers like I did in my twenties, wishing you were with me    that we hadn’t been cut apart.

“The Liquor Vicar is beautiful chaos. Ditrich’s characters come alive with all the complexity of a Shakespearean comedy and a uniquely Canadian dry wit. Colourful characters carry this story like a current, moving seamlessly from side-splitting humour to tenderness as it explores our human desire for relevance and purpose.”

Melanie Martin, author of “A Splendid Boy”
