It would have been Kipnuk's Birthday today. Went out tonight to remember him. Just going to share a couple quotes:

Miss you Sweet Kipnuk! Still Love You to the Moon & Back!

Dear Friends-
I haven't been active on my Blog in quite a while. It's kindof been a challenging year. Anyway, I have some very sad news. My beloved malamute Kipnuk sadly passed away on Monday. It has been devastating to me. He was the love of my life, my ray of sunshine, my everything. I wrote books about him because he was so loving, gentle & sweet. I'm heartbroken from losing him. He was 10 3/4yrs old & his Birthday was coming up in May. Anyway, I will probably be sharing some of the special moments I had with him on here. It's been very painful to say the least. I discovered from my Vet visit on Feb 8th that he had cancer in his hip & lung. He was chasing the ball not long before & he declined very suddenly. He passed away in my arms only 10 days later. He will never be forgotten by me. His unconditional love made an everlasting imprint on my heart & life.

Last week I did a Storytelling Festival in California. It was quite fun and I am really looking forward to the next event. I shared the first book, Kipnuk the Talking Dog. Generally I am sharing my stories at children's events, but this time there were many adults in the audience. It was so great to see their reaction to the story!

It was a very busy summer for me.. Can't believe it's over and here we are in October! I'm working on a number of book projects right now that I hope to share very soon. Well, take care and enjoy this beautiful day! :)

Well, today is 9-11 and it always hits me the same way every year. You see I was scheduled to be in Tower 2 on 9-11 with 300 of my classmates from Morgan Stanley. I had failed a test just prior which I missed by about 12 questions. As a result, I was dropped from the program, lost my job & was therefore unable to attend my scheduled training in Tower 2. On the morning of 9-11, my supervisor had left me a message regarding what had happened & to call the office because he had just realized when he looked at his calendar, I was originally scheduled to be there. Anyway, with each year that passes, I remember my near close call and feel a close connection with many who lost loved ones that day. I lost a friend from school and my heart goes out to the families of the many brave heroes, firefighters and first responders who risked their lives that day to save another.

Well, Southern California is known for earthquakes but it is not usually known for severe wind storms, and we sure had one last night! After taking a walk this morning with Kipnuk, I noticed some trees laying on the ground near my house and one was on top of a car that was parked on the side of the road - thankfully no one was hurt. It was a pretty big storm and hopefully everyone that was affected by it is ok. The winds last night reminded me of the Midwest twisters I had experienced in the past. I am just very grateful that we didn't lose power and that everyone here in my area was all right and that the storm wasn't any worse. Anyway, wishing you a beautiful day! :)
