James Wilson answered Goodreads's question: Where did you get the idea for your most recent book? For Paul Nitze it had to do with his longevity. And the comparisons to George Kennan, who was really only involved in the crafting of U.S. Cold War policies for four years. Nitze stuck around--in varying capacities--for about forty years.
