Long-Awaited Book News!

The long-awaited book news, and it's big! I'm happy to be joining the Murder, She Wrote team!

Picture Let's all welcome BARBARA EARLY to the MURDER, SHE WROTE team! Hi I'm Terrie Moran and this is exciting news. Please join me in welcoming fantastic mystery writer, Barbara Early, author of the Vintage Toyshop series ( some of you also will know her as Beverly Allen, author of the Bridal Bouquet Shop series). Barbara and I have each signed contracts with Penguin Random House to individually write Murder, She Wrote books to be released in 2025 and 2026. Under my previous contract I have already submitted Murder, She Wrote, a Killer Christmas to be released in October 2024. Barbara is the author of Murder, She Wrote Snowy with a Chance of Murder, to be released in early 2025. Following that I am presently writing Murder, She Wrote A Body in Boston (name may be changed) to be released in the spring of 2025 and another to be released in the fall. We are each contracted to write one book to be released in 2026. Barbara and I are looking forward to any comments and questions you may have. Picture

Something new...coming soon

Yes, I've been a little slow to update the website.

Lots of reasons. New house. New grandchildren. New life struggles. The whole pandemic thing.

But if you're checking in to see if I have anything new in the works, the answer is...yes!

New characters. New setting. More details, very soon.

Game recommendations.

BOARD GAME RECOMMENDATIONS, COVID EDITION If you've enjoyed the Vintage Toyshop Mysteries, you might also enjoy the board games that Liz and her family and friends play. While many of those take 3 of 4 players, what do you do when you're quarantined at home with one other person? Here are some great games you can play with two people! I don't receive any compensation for posting recommendations.

Mark your calendars!!

The summer is already heating up, and besides writing a book (book 3 in the VIntage Toyshop Mysteries is due to editors on September 1st) I'll be attending a host of events coming up...maybe one near you! This list may not be complete. Check back for more!

Suffolk Mystery Authors Festival, August 12th Picture I'll be in Suffolk, VA, meeting and greeting and sitting on panels, and hopefully signing a few books. This will be my 3rd time attending as an author. This festival is big enough to make it worth the trip, and intimate enough to be able to talk with people. Hope to see you there! http://www.suffolkmysteryauthorsfestival.com/ Murder as You Like It, August 19th Mechanicsburg, PA. This is a first time for me, attending this one date mystery conference associated with the well-regarded Mechanicsburg Mystery Bookshop. I'm sitting on a panel titled, We are the Puppet Masters, and I've been given the green light to bring a puppet or two with me. Check their site for reservation information. https://www.mysterybooksonline.com/calendar Death of a Toy Soldier, paperback release, September 12th Picture Of course, you can already get it in hardcover or as an e-book, but if you've been waiting for the spiffy paperback edition, it's available for pre-order now! Murder Mystery Train, October 8th Happy to say I'll be one of the guest authors on the Murder Mystery Train hosted regularly by Duffy Brown and Tonya Kappes (along with Laura Bradford and Lynn Cahoon) as they travel to my neck of the woods in Lockport, NY!  http://twodamesandatrain.blogspot.com/ Picture Murder on the Toy Town Express, release, October 10th Picture Liz McCall has come to love running her father’s vintage toyshop back home in East Aurora, NY, so when the Train and Toy Show comes to town, she’s all aboard for a fun toy-filled weekend. The only hitch is that her childhood bully Craig McFadden, now local business rival, has set up a booth next to hers. But the fun and games are over when Craig falls from the ceiling in a publicity stunt gone wrong.

What was initially thought to be a fatal accident proves much more sinister. Pulled into the case by her feelings for both Ken, the police chief, and Jack, her high school sweetheart whose brother is one the prime suspects, Liz dives headfirst into the investigation. But as she digs deeper, she’s shocked to learn her father may have been the intended target.

The trouble train is barreling down and Liz may have just bought herself a first class ticket in Murder on the Toy Town Express, Barbara Early’s delightful second installment in her Vintage Toyshop mysteries.

Pre-order now from your favorite booksellers!
Check back for online and local launch event and blog tour! Bouchercon 2017, October 12-15 Picture I'll be on a panel on Saturday at 2:30, entitled, "Hard-Boiled v Cozy," described as: “Cozy authors extol the virtues of hard boiled novels and vice versa.”  And signing books directly afterward. West Falls/Colden Library Author Reading, October 21st Details TBA

Now, join my Very Merry UNNewsletter

I have to admit, author newsletters aren't quite my favorite thing. And somehow, I've managed to avoid them, thus far. Until a recent meeting with a representative from my publisher, where they rather...suggested that I start one.

Now, if I'm going to have a newsletter, it's going to be a fun one. I'm planning games, giveaways, vintage toys, maybe some background on the town where the books are set (yes, it's real!), and sprinkled with occasional news about my books. To kick it off, if you subscribe now, you'll be entered to win either a copy of Death of a Toy Soldier or an advance copy of Murder on the Toy Town Express!

Subscribe by July 15th to be entered.
