Turning the big Three-O (30) can cause a bit of trouble, especially when Peyton's friends encourage her to send an anonymous email to her boss, the guy she's been crushing on for years.

Seems harmless, right?

That's until she wakes up the next morning to a wave of HR emails letting the entire office know that whoever sent the inappropriate email to Rome Blackburn is going to get caught!

Terrified and hung over, Peyton's only comfort in the entire situation is that she's leaving the company in two weeks and hopefully they won't be able to figure out it was her. And because she likes to walk on the side of danger, she responds to the email once more, only this time, Rome follows along with her flirting throwing her completely off.

There is an abundance of sexual tension, swoony moments, and a battle of wits as these two characters try to work together while anonymously messaging each other.

Blogging

I have a confession to make: I have no idea how to work the internet. I blame my generation (hint: I'm in my late 30's). After I logged on to Goodreads to post a new entry, it took me about 4 minutes to find the "NEW POST" button in my profile.

I should be ashamed of myself.

Seriously.

(Sigh)

In other news! For those of you who don't follow me on Facebook (the only social media I'm capable of figuring out) the Kiss & Make Up series is getting a face lift! If you want to see the new cover of Kissing in Cars, follow this link to my page and give me your feedback

https://www.facebook.com/saraneyautho...

In the meantime, I'll be on the struggle bus, trying to figure out how to make this blog post LIVE! on "that damn internet."

HERE'S THE BLURB!

"Trust me - If there's one thing I'm not attracted to, it's an arrogant, selfish and foul-mouth hockey player. I know what I want, and Matthew Wakefield isn't it." - Cecelia Carter

From the first moment they laid eyes on each other, all Cecelia Carter and Matthew Wakefield do is bicker. Fight. Even though he is her roommates brother, Cece just can't stand the sight of him, and Matthew - well. He could never resist a challenge...

That can't be a good combination, can it?
But sometimes, love happens when you least expect it.

Just writing away.

Tonight I was posting a few things on eBay, when I noticed my making jokes in the product descriptions. Does anyone else ever do that?

It got me thinking...

I notice myself doing that a lot; writing things down the way they're going through my head - er, except probably not right now because I'm so tired ((actually, that's a lie: if I wrote what was REALLY going through my head sometimes, people would probably be afraid of me [awkward laugh])).

Right when I started writing Kissing in Cars, I was actually kind of "afraid" to write the things I actually wanted my characters to say, or do. So, as a solution, I made them younger so I wouldn't have to put them in adult situations. Wouldn't have to break out in a sweat trying to describe different parts of the male/female anatomy...

I will also admit, one of the main reasons is - I just could not wrap my brain around people I KNEW reading things I wrote! "If I write something sleazy, my freaking mother is going to read it and how will I look her in the eye." or better yet, MY GRANDMA (who read a few pages and hated it, btw), or some of the students I'm an advisor for.

Once book 2 strolled my way, I had an internal debate with myself: what was this book going to be "rated?" Were the characters going to do it, or not?! Could I actually describe it if they did?! Ugh. Decisions, decisions...

Let me tell you - when you're sitting in Starbucks and someone takes the chair next to you, you tend to hunch over your 14 inch laptop monitor, that's absolutely glowing away, the sex scene you're trying to write minimized every time you take a drink of your Iced Latte. You know - lest the guy next to you thinks you're a loose pervert.

Sigh.

Baby steps... baby steps....

Let's talk covers...

Alright.
So I've been debating lately about changing my covers. Debating A LOT. I think at the beginning, when I just had one book (Kissing in Cars) and my audience was primarily gears towards the under 18 crowd, the cover worked great. It was fun, and different...

But now that I have TWO books, and the 2nd one (He Kissed Me First) is a different age range. Which got me thinking....

I would love some feedback on covers:
~ what's working, and what's not.
~ photo's vs. artwork
~ what draws YOU to a cover to make you click on the information
~ what would you like to see on the Kissing with Cars & He Kissed me First covers?!

Taking all suggestions and feedback into consideration, as a graphic artist takes a look at my current designs!

Did I mention it's cold out?

I did? Whoops. I'm sorry, but if this Starbucks wasn't so cold, I might actually get some work done today on Book 3. I actually just Googled "Why is Starbucks so cold?" and there were actual answers - that made me feel a tad bit better.

I might actually have to abandon my writing today and head home, where it's warm (but full of diversions).

Oh the weather outside....

Greetings from the Midwest, where it is FREEZING! I'm hunkered down in a Starbucks, COLD coffee in hand and wrapped in a large scarf for warmth. I've just started BOOK 3 (title yet to be determined) and thought I would start a blog! Not sure how the whole blogging thing works - I just poked around on Good Reads pressing "this button and that" and unable to add my new book to my profile, so.... Awkward. I just missed the "tech savvy" generation, so it's a struggle navigating on my own.

So excited to begin Book 3. My mom continues to try and persuade me to do other things today, like Holiday shopping... but I'm staying strong and am determined to pound out a chapter (or two). Wish me luck!
