The Manuscripts are Done
I don't know if anyone will even read this. I've dropped off the cliff for the past 2 years, but then Covid has really devastated the world, so tragic, sad and heart-breaking.
Anyway, my 2 manuscripts: Betrayed by Beauty, the sequel to The Ugly Princess and Woofapalooza - The Devil in the Dog Suit are both finished and have been edited by a professional and are ready for a few Beta readers. I hope some of you will want to take a look. I'm just looking for feedback before they are published, so if you're interested, let me know and I'll email you a pdf copy for your review. A little information follows below on each. I look forward to hearing from you.
Betrayed by Beauty: Young Adult Fantasy (400 pages) In this sequel to The Ugly Princess, Olive must face Cassandra Dragon Slayer, the 500 year old witch who cursed the Winnowwood people. Cassandra is going to kill Olive and steal her powers with a devious plot that will destroy the world and turn it into darkness. (Warning, more mature subject material than The Ugly Princess.)
Woofapalooza - The Devil in the Dog Suit: 10+ (255 pages)Middle Grade coming of age /fantasy story that is told in the first person by three dogs and one streetwise cat. From the happiness of winning, to the misery of the Dog Pound, The Devil in the Dog Suit is an emotional ride of triumph
How do you compete in a world now being run by liars and frauds? In this “post-truth” world is there room for those with integrity and character or will they only become fodder for the liars’ agendas? These are the questions that torment Elvis, a pedigreed Airedale Terrier with more trophies than toes and who is desperate to save his no-kill shelter and the dogs (and one cat) who live there from a future that includes a one-way trip to the Dog Pound.
Unfortunately, Elvis has lost faith and believes they are doomed. Enter Freddy, a naïve little pup who’s all heart and concocts a plan for one of them to win the $1,000,000 prize for Best in Show at the Las Vegas Dog Show. With help from his mentor, Moomsey, an Abyssinian cat with a keen knowledge of self-help philosophy, Freddy must find his strength in the midst of unbearable adversity because Chaussay, a standard poodle and the reigning champion, will stop at nothing to keep her crown.

The Beginning...
So, my first step into the world of "authors" and I am intimidated. Will anyone like my book? Will people be mean and horrible and tear it apart? I've always considered books some of the best friends
So, my first step into the world of "authors" and I am intimidated. Will anyone like my book? Will people be mean and horrible and tear it apart? I've always considered books some of the best friends I ever had, especially when I was a young girl. They were the best escape, the most fun and amazing. I hope somehow my little book finds friends in this world. We shall see. I have so much to learn, but know it will be an adventure.
