Susan Hunter is a happy introvert who lives with her husband Gary, an extreme extrovert, in rural Michigan.

She spent some years as a reporter and then as the managing editor of a small daily newspaper. From there Susan went on to work at a university in publications and marketing where she honed her skills at appearing engaged in academic meetings, while internally composing her grocery list. She also taught a few classes as well—in English composition, that is, not in faking your way through meetings.

In addition to writing the Leah Nash series, Susan enjoys reading other people’s writing, watching classic films, occasional walks and snarky conversation with old friends and family, eating chocolate chip cookies, and answering emails from he

I've always been an avid reader of fiction (mysteries being my favorite) and I thought about trying my hand, but for a long time I wasn't brave enough. I was afraid I didn't have enough imagination, afraid I couldn't write believable characters, afraid I wasn't good enough to write something entirely out of my imagination. In short, I was afraid of failing. Then several unexpected and difficult losses happened in my life, and I realized that I was wasting the time I had worrying about failure, instead of just doing what I really wanted and needed to do. So I jumped in the deep end of the pool and came out with Dangerous Habits. I learned a lot, I continue to learn more, and my hope is to get better with each new book. Thanks for asking--you started my morning off thinking, instead of my usual staring into space and wishing someone would bring me cookies. ;-)(less)

Hi Sue,

I'll be putting Dangerous Ground (Book 6) up for pre-order as soon as I finish the draft and it's in revision. I could do it with dummy copy well in advance of that, but it feels like tempting fate to me to offer it for sale before it's done. (I'm more cautious than Leah). I'll send a notice to people on the Leah Nash Mysteries email list, and also post the information on my website and the Leah Nash facebook page as well. Thanks for asking!(less)

Prologue – Dangerous Deception

Monday, June 1 If today is any indication, Police Captain Rob Porter is going to have a very good week. He smiles as he watches the sun sinking on the horizon, feels the light breeze on his face, hears the slap of small waves as they gently rock the fishing boat moored to the dock […]

Susan Hunter answered Deborah M.'s question: Susan Hunter
Thanks, Deborah. It never ceases to amaze me how many times I, my proofers and my copy editors can read a book and *still* leave errors in our wake. I'll pass it on to the publisher for a correction.
