Rejoice Denhere is an author, creative entrepreneur, and consultant with a gift for transforming everyday experiences into empowering stories. She writes across genres, from soul-stirring fiction to practical guides, always with the goal of helping others reclaim their voice and live with purpose.

Her personal health journey inspired The Busy Vegan’s Guide to Eating Brilliantly, a down-to-earth cookbook for busy people. Meanwhile, her fiction, like the poetic and powerful The Deep Doesn’t Drown Me, delves into identity, self-acceptance, and the courage it takes to be different in a world that often misunderstands you.

Rejoice runs her own consultancy helping small businesses unlock their potential through strategy, storytelling, and smart sys

She and her family had emigrated abroad a few years earlier but we had maintained regular contact phone and letters. There was no email back then.

I became concerned when she didn’t reply to my letters. Calls were not answered either. In fact, all efforts to contact my friend, even through her family were fruitless. They did not respond to any communication and nobody seemed to know what had become of them. It was a nightmare that haunted me for decades as I feared the worst.

Then one day, out of the blue I remembered she’d had a sister who lived in a neighbouring country to mine. I remembered her name and googled her. Thank God for Google because that didn’t exist when I was growing up.

The name came up on Google with a Facebook profile but I wasn’t sure it was my friend’s sister. So many decades had passed. She would have married, changed her name, moved abroad. I took a chance anyway and contacted her via Facebook. I also provided my email address, but did not really expect a response.

Well, I got the surprise of my life. She replied. Not only was she my friend’s sister, she remembered me! She sounded pleased to hear from me. I was thrilled. I emailed back asking about her sister and her family. I had so many questions. Now, the mystery that had been haunting me for years, the nightmare I had lived would be over.

Then she too disappeared. Without a trace.

Now I am wondering, maybe it wasn’t her sister after all. Maybe it was some stranger just playing with my emotions. Yes, maybe that’s what it was.

So, the mystery of my friend’s disappearance remains as I still don’t know what happened to her or her family.(less)

4 Ways Gratitude Will Elevate Your Life

I’m done with complaining. It can destroy your life. The more you complain, the more you find things to complain about. When you entertain people who complain you start to attract the very things you don’t want in your life.
