The Big Who and Why?

It’s an interesting subject to even think about than to talk about. Many People all over the world are trying to find the purpose or the meaning of one’s life. Some are searching in spiritual books, some are seeking with the help of Gurus and some have chosen the route of ecstasy. But is it worth knowing who we are and why are we here?
The human body is the most complex system beyond the comprehension of any science and logic and it continues to evolve with time. From the day we were born to the day we will depart, we continue accumulating the information using one of our five senses and that leads to the evolvement of our mind which controls what we do and who we are at that moment of time. Now if we are controlled by one of our own organ then we are not even the master of our own body forget about others. It quite freaks me out but imagine that even our dreams are driven by our subconscious mind. So are we what our mind and thoughts are? Are we what we believe in or are we what our five senses are? Well I don’t know either but I believe it’s not about defining who you are as it sounds rather it is about finding your identity beyond the physical boundaries of five senses.
Now how can we look beyond these five senses, I think one way to look at it is to give away the possessions of these five senses ,People call it Nirvana. I wonder if it also smells like a teen spirit but giving away possessions is easier said than done. But I believe one can begin with controlling the urge of expanding the possessions beyond the one’s need and that way we at least can cut down the desire of securing one of these. Ok, so I will try to cut down on my possessions to not become slave of my own five senses but will this give me peace of mind and answer my question of who and why? May be not or may be yes but it will at-least make me focus my mind beyond the control of five senses; and that could possibly open a new window to the new world where things are not what I see or experience daily.
But why would I do that when I am happy with who I am, well if we think about “why”, we will never be able to find who and how and sometimes it’s necessary to consciously grow in our awareness of the unknown. So stop worrying about what we did and what will happen and take a moment now to think about “Who and Why” to discover the truth. The truth which is “neither this nor that” (Neti-Neti), the truth through which gradually one negates the mind and transcends all worldly experiences that are negated till nothing remains but the Self. And that truth is who we are individually and collectively.
