Back again

I’m really terrible at this. Let’s see...where was I? My last post was from LibertyCon in Chattanooga. That was in July. We drove from Chattanooga to Shell Mound, Missouri, to visit some friends. Shell Mound is sort of suburb of Branson, so we just had to go to a show. Actually, we went to two: the Titanic exhibit and Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede. It was our third or fourth Titanic exhibit and they are all a little different. I bought a very pretty Victorian style tea set at the gift shop.

On the way to dinner, our car was hit (rear-ended again). Same scenario as last year - traffic stopped, we stopped, guy behind us did not stop. Fortunately, the speed limit was only 30 mph, instead of 55.

Dinner was great. The Dixie Stampede is sort of like a western-themed Medieval Times. The food was good and the company was terrific.

After that, on to Junction City, Kansas to attend my husband’s family reunion. On the way, we stopped in Lawrence, KS and bought the spinning wheel I’ve been drooling over for about seven years.

At the end of August, I hopped into my recently-repaired vehicle and headed up to DeKalb, Illinois, to visit two longtime friends. I also made some new, future longtime friends and bought a LOT of yarn. And, of course, a lot of fiber to play with on the spinning wheel.

Skipping ahead to the present - I am currently lounging in my hotel room at the World Fantasy Convention, which is in San Antonio this year. It is Day 1 and I have seen several friends, some of whom I haven’t seen in a very long time. I hope to see more in the days to come. Today, I went on the distillery tour to the Ranger Creek Distilling and Brewing Company. Yes, they distill whiskey AND brew beer. Very interesting and educational. Not to mention tasty.

I will try to be a little more consistent in the future. But don’t expect miracles. Drop me a line, either at Goodreads or Amazon Author Central, to let me know these posts are getting read occasionally. If someone is out there looking for it, I will be more likely to write.

More later,,,
