How Much Time Do We Have?
"It was only during my Quarantine during the COVID-19 epidemic did I finally find the time to write my first book".
As much as this sounds appealing for me to accept, I am persuaded that the sentence above is quite fallacious. At first, I thought of it to be true. Although I had saved my usual commute time and getting ready, I still had many online courses, lengthy assignments, projects, and other commitments. However, what was altered this time is this revolting awareness: we do have all the time we need to accomplish goals we have been procrastinating for too long.
Whether it's a passion you have, a life-long sought purpose, or any achievement you have listed on your bucket list, it becomes alluring to put them down due to the lack of time.
In reality, we have the same number of hours per day as those Einstein, Tesla, Mozart, Dostoyevsky, and other great minds throughout history had. The only difference, however, is how we utilize them to mold ourselves into who we wish to become. This is a glorious lesson this Quarantine has shown me. It revealed one of the greatest lies I have been telling myself: "I just don't have the time for it".
Only after this realization did I decide that as an aspiring author, I must really invest in what I love if I wish to produce something nice for the readers.
"How much time do I really have?" became a question of great irrelevance to me, I really stopped caring about that because I have found that any excuse I have been previously formulating is nothing but a lie that feeds any laziness I have.
From that, the only advice I could give to anyone now is to really remove any excuse from the road. Truly, you will realize the difference when you start working with what you're truly passionate about. Don't think of any other aspect, just focus on what you wish to become...
