There is a great line in the Adam Sandler movie Click,

Morty : [Michael wants to skip ahead to his promotion] Consider the leprechaun. ... He's always chasing the pot of gold, but when he gets there, at the end of the day, it's just corn flakes.

It's a repeated line throughout the movie, warning Michael to not chase the pot of gold, to not forget what is most important in his life and to appreciate what he has in front of him.

I think about the insects and moths who fly towards the porch light, thinking its something special only to get burned in the process.

Don't we do the same thing in our own lives?

We chase things thinking they are the "real" things....the valuable things...the necessary things...

We turn to drinking. We seek companionship in the wrong setting. We force relationships through dating Apps. We get sucked into a new Netflix series thinking binge watching will drown out the world around us.

But the artificial Light is literally burning us.

It's all just ....cornflakes.

I would challenge you today to let the Savior of the world be your Hope, your Guide and your True Abiding Light.

" When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of Life.” - John 8:12

I pray peace over you right now. I pray that God's presence will be felt and his love will be embraced in your life. I pray you will find comfort and rest in the One who cares for you and not to find solace through any of the fakes in this world.

Do not forget what is most important. Or rather, WHO is most important!
