It's great to have Marcus Teaches Us out in the public view. Marcus Garvey is not an easy person to write about for children.
When we did the 1st edition in 2012, the intent was to give children 3-6 yrs old, the chance to say what they knew about him. They used paints and canvas and fabrics and crayons. It was awesome.

Now so many years later I am accompanied by a 9 year old author who uses the word. It tells me that children and their parents, will always be learning about the famous philosopher because he is "in the wind" in words, music, lyrics, batik, tie & dye. So many forms
Garvey Lives and will continue to excite the reader. His words mean so much more everyday and make us realize as we say in this edition's blurb, "You too can be a part of Black History"
