The Tarot Sequence: A 10-Book Series

I’ve made an important change to the second half of The Tarot Sequence series: what was originally planned as Book IV will now be told across two full novels. The story simply grew too big to be contained in one volume — and rather than cut key moments, rush pacing, or condense a 500-600 page manuscript, I’ve decided to give it the space it deserves.

Book IV, titled The Misfit Caravan, still takes Rune and his crew on a cross-country road trip through modern-day America, culminating in a major showdown beneath an underground fae city. Book V, The Exiled Courts, picks up immediately after — shifting the action to the Pacific Northwest, where we’ll explore the Atlantean Exile Community, a dangerous magical wasteland, and endgame events that will change the life for every member of Sun Estate irrevocably.

The best part? The writing momentum is real. I’m on track to deliver the finished manuscript for The Misfit Caravan by the end of July, and The Exiled Courts should follow not long after — ideally by April or May of 2026.

This shift also marks a bigger decision: I now see The Tarot Sequence as a 10-book series, with a natural break after Book V. I’m looking forward to exploring new opportunities for the final five books — including tighter control of publication timelines, a continued partnership with my amazing audiobook narrator, and an upgrade in print quality for future hardcover and paperback editions.

I am so happy you're on this journey with me.

Best,

KD

Alan I was scared to read The Hourglass Throne (still haven't) because I didn't want the trilogy to end. I'm so excited!

Ashley Gotz This is the best ducking news! I'm sad I found it so late. I'm so happy you didn't make the choice to cut anything. The world you have created is so wonderful and awesome that cutting anything would be heartbreaking.
