RPG Tips

Each week I think about what I learned in my last RPG session and write them up as RPG tips. Here are this week's tips:

Run small battles regularly. Add potential allies to infiltration situations who can offer information or distract enemies. Add hidden shrines or crypts to dungeons that even the current inhabitants dont know about. Reveal secrets through mosaics, old scrolls, and the lore of NPCs. Keep a loose list of inhabitants and improvise encounters based on the situation and pacing of the game. Borrow ideas from books, movies, tv shows. Take ideas from everywhere. Infiltrating an occupied keep is a fantastic way to build a situation and let the characters navigate it as they wish.
