Book Review: Passion, Power and Privilege
Kate’s marriage with Dwanye was frar from ideal, but when she finds herself suddenly single again, she has no idea what to do. Picking up the pieces of a previous life, she wonders whether she should return to her job as a corporate lawyer, or take a risk, and proceed with her campaign to become the Mayor of her city. What she didn’t think would happen, was that she’d fall in love agian.
But then she meets Brad, and he’s everything she’s wanted in a partner. He’s handsome, successful, and inspires her to follow her dreams. He brings out a passion and love Kate thought had long disappeared. But unfortunately the past has a way of catching up with both of them, and if they want a chance at happiness, they’ll have to overcome secrets of the past to find love.
I loved Kate. She wasn’t scared to take on any challenge. She was brave, thoughtful, and intelligent. But when she met Brad, something awoke inside of her that was more than all that. It brought forth a better Kate, a Kate who could change the world, if she wanted to. Brad is the kind of guy you can only dream of in real life. A perfect gentleman, charming, a tad bit possessive, and very, very loving.
The plot was all right, and the more sexy scenes were definitely sexy. But there was tons of romance as well, and the characters really match in all aspects of life (with that, I mean not just the bedroom). My first book by this author, but if she writes any more, I’d love to read them.
