Hello! I'm VERY excited because The 100 Book 2: DAY 21 comes out in . . . wait for it . . . 21 Days!
To celebrate, I thought I'd share 21 THOUGHTS I HAD WHILE WRITING DAY 21. Enjoy!
1. Yay! Sequel time. I’m going to be SO much more disciplined this time around.
2. The right music is obviously step one. Gotta set the mood.
3. Turning on Taylor Swift.
4. This first chapter is going great. But why does that line sound so familiar?
5. Umm . . . probably can’t have Clarke tell Wells that “We are never ever everrrrr getting back together.”
6. Turning off Taylor Swift.
7. Coffee shop time! What should I wear to look literary?
8. Why is the coffee shop so crowded?! Maybe if I stand here, looking bookish and alluring, the guy reading Faulkner will offer me a seat at his table.
9. Oooh . . . open table . . . go go go go. Now the serious writing begins.
10. Ugg. Bellamy would NEVER say that. Deleeeeeeeete.
11. Is Faulkner boy looking at me? I should type really fast, so he knows that I’m a serious writer.
12. Oooh . . . he’s taking out a notebook. I wonder what HE’S writing.
13. Maybe if he figures out that I’m working on a book, he’ll come up with an excuse to say hello. I’ll just tilt the screen a little . . .
14. Not helpful. Okay, what if I take a sip of cappuccino and stare dreamily out the window?
15. Hmmm . . . Should Octavia tame a radioactive rabbit and keep it for a pet?
16. What should I name the rabbit? Which sci-fi writers haven’t I referenced yet?
17. Oh! I’ll call the rabbit Philip, for Philip K. Dick. Or Bradbury. Bradbury the bunny. Brilliant.
18. This bunny thing isn’t working at all. Complete waste of time. Sorry, Bradbury. Delete.
19. How much have I written? 2000 words to earn a muffin break! Oh . . . 289 words.
20. Aaaaaand Faulkner boy’s girlfriend just walked in. Okay! Back to writing! I wonder if it’s too early in the book for Bellamy to take off his shirt?
21. It’s NEVER too early . . .
