Delta Highway Feels More Like A Glimpse into How Your Life Might have Transpired:

Delta Highway feels more like a glimpse into how your life might have transpired had you made alternate choices. You are taken on Crenshaw’s journey as his traveling companion; you’re not an unattached reader, you are ON the highway yourself. It is flinching to read at times, confronted by hard truths that are necessary for Charles to learn, but we get the opportunity to learn the lessons without making the same mistakes. There is underlying modern commentary about racism and the AA cult(ure), philosophy, and relevant mythology of the Norse, all set in an unlikely dusty, southern town. The story flows easily and for a first-time writer, Parker really delivers haunting lines and visuals that will stay with the reader for quite awhile after the last page.–Jessy
