Yeah, the aliens in the Vorkosigan universe are the Cetagandans. :)
Cordwainer Smith is an amazing author. I have read all of his stories and turned quite a few people on to him as well. He's hard to find though. Not everything has made it online.
Mary and Lois, I agree with the recommendation for Cordwainer Smith -- thought provoking (and hard to find)
A quick glance in the Kindle store under the author's name finds a short collection, The Best of Cordwainer Smith, as the first hit, so not that hard to find or obtain. But he wrote a lot more than that. NESFA Press had a complete-works version on paper, many years ago -- I don't know if that's still available.
