Bradbury was my first sci-fi with "S" is for Space when I was 12. My father loved Bradbury and it was a way to connect with him. I didn't miss it when he came to speak at my college. He has a certain intensity in his characters and that's something I love about yours as well.
How beautiful to learn this about Ray Bradbury and what an impact it must have had. I like you wrote fan mail. I do think it is the local librarian or the English teacher who has the most influence on our early reading ....I can see the books I was given in Bathurst City Library as if yesterday and it started my long devotion to reading Australian authors before others. It's great to read all your recommendation here Michael thank you. I think for readers of your work to get insights into your own reqding is such a gift.
