This is so encouraging to read. You're one of my absolute favorite writers and learning that you got started a little bit later gives me a lot of hope. I'm 31 and while I have an indie following, can't seem to break into traditional publishing. I feel like we only ever hear about the writers who make it big young. Thanks for sharing this info from your own writing journey! Very motivational.

And Head Full of Ghosts is my absolute favorite book. I fangirl over it constantly. It's meta and has such cool feminist gothic themes. It's a horror novel that IS an analysis of horror. I adore it.
