Minorities in Fantasy and Science Fiction
When I was a little girl I wanted to be Storm from X-Men. She was the only kick-butt black female super heroine in the world who could fly and "make it rain" (lol). I am African American female and I have always been an ubber nerd. I love science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, supernatural, action, adventure, angels flying around, even vampires (at times)! But I've noticed there's a severe lack of African American female leads in this type of genre whether television, movies or books.
