Reading Classics, Chronologically Through the Ages

[close] Rule #1: Have fun! If we're reading a book that you're just not into, then don't read it! Don't "should" on yourself when it comes to reading the classics.

Rule #2: Keep The Trivium method in mind:

1) Grammar Stage: "Grasp knowledge" (deep reading)
2) Logic Stage: "evaluate the validity of arguments" (think about the author's intent, and whether or not you resonate/agree)
3) Rhetoric Stage: "present your own opinions with grace and clarity" (share your ideas with the group and comment on each others' ideas in a *constructive* manner)
