Goodreads asked Teresa J. Reasor:

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Teresa J. Reasor I actually have two favorite fictional couples. One is Alaina and Cole in Kathleen Woodiwiss' Ashes in the Wind. Both characters are very strong and the conflict between them ebbs, flows and crashes all through the book. The time frame is the Civil War and the period afterward. We have very few books set in that time frame published today... don't understand why because it is a period ripe with conflict.
My second couple is Dallas and Roark in Nora Roberts in Death Series. They've been a couple through 44 books, soon to be 45 and Roberts is allowing Dallas to evolve and grow the longer the couple are together, as she should. In the latest book I read, Echoes in Death, there's a burgeoning openness growing in Dallas's character. She's learned to trust and is building a closer and closer relationship with Roark certainly, but also the group of associates who are also friends-family. She's accepting the concept that needing comfort and support isn't a weakness. Her conflict with Summerset has turned into a game and she always asks where he's at if he isn't present and there's a deeper concern there. Though the romance in the In Death series is secondary to the mystery-suspense plot lines in the book, it is still and integral part of each story and it's been entertaining to watch the characters evolve, not just Roark and Dallas but the others as well.
