We are so excited that a New Maisie Dobbs adventure is on our way. My question is: A few years ago you said something to the effect that you didn't want the image of Maisie to be one specific person so you were not interested in selling the movie rights. Is that something you have reconsidered, or still no to selling the movie rights?

I have not sold any movie rights, but the TV serialization rights are currently "optioned" - which means a TV production company is looking into developing a TV series based upon the books. What I said at that time was that it was quite a leap to have a character depicted on the screen, because that's how readers would see the character from that point on - the time was not right at that point, although now the character is more established. It's still a risk though, so I'm holding my breath - we'll see what happens.

Hi Jacqueline. I love the Maisie Dodds series not only for the time period you set the stories in but also the fact that she is a spiritual as well as intelligent girl. You give Maisie intuition and spiritual intelligence which she has learnt to trust along with her mental faculties. What caused you to give Maisie such insight? Is this something you have experienced? Do you know of someone like this?
