What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Marilyn Turk Supposedly, my grandmother's first husband was a very mean man. He was suspected to be a cattle rustler, among other things. Rumor has it that he would not sit beside a lighted window at night because he was afraid someone might take a shot at him. But the worst thing about him was that he was an abusive husband and my grandmother's brother told him he if he hit her again, he'd be dead. So apparently, the abuse continued and my great uncle took him out. He was never convicted because everyone thought he'd done a good thing, ridding the community of a bad man. My mother told me this; she was the product of her mother's second husband who was a nice man, but her mother wouldn't confirm the story. It was other relatives who told her about it.
