What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Brian S. Converse There is a Converse family story of one of my ancestors in Michigan marrying a Native American woman and bringing her back to "civilization." She had a son, and her tribe took him to raise him as a Native American. She struck out alone, on foot, to get him back. She travelled through the wilds of Michigan to her tribe and begged for her son, who was finally returned to her. She came back to live with my family. The mystery is if this story is actually true. Since I have no real connection to that side of my family, finding out has been difficult.
