Actually, no--they're actually a homage to the movie Spinal Tap (well, the whole damn book is sorta that, actually). In case you're not familiar with it--or its been a while--Spinal Tap's drummers die constantly in mysterious (and ridiculous) ways, so that was my original inspiration.

Gonna have to check out 'Dorkness Rising' now...
