I've always found forensic anthropology fascinating. Since I was a young girl I've loved both scientific experimentation and solving puzzles. In this job, I get to do both. I enjoy the work because I'm responsible for determining who a deceased was and what happened to that person. In a way, I'm responsible for giving answers to the family members left behind, to help them better understand what happened to their loved one and perhaps make it slightly easier for them to deal with their loss.

This is 18th book I the series. When you wrote Deja Dead in 1997, did you have any idea that it would lead to 17 sequels (more if you count the half numbered books in the series and a TV show that would run for 13 years and inspire thousands of girls to get involved in your career field?
